Abstract

Hydrophobic, insecticidal, solid compsns. free of high mol. wt. hydrocarbons comprise (a) 15 to 40 pts. wt. of a cpd. of formula (I) where X is O of S; R, R' are 1-4C alkyl; Y is F, Cl, Br; R2, R3 are H, F, Cl, Br, Me, Et; k is 1 or 2 (pref. dichlorous) (b) 10 to 80 pts. wt. of a high ketone having a m.pt. >50 degrees C and with a vapour pressure at 110 degrees C of is not >1.33 mbar, (c) 0.1 to 25 pts.wt. of a stabilizer for the ester (a), (d) 0-30 pts.wt. of a hydrophobic thickener, (e) 0-75 pts.wt. of a volatile organic cpd. to increase the solubility of (a) in (b) having a vapour pressure at 30 degrees C of 0.006-6.66 mbar, and at 100 degrees C of >=1.33 mbar, the percentage of (d) and (e) being >=4% of the total wt. of the compsn. The organophosphorus is evenly liberated in a greater percentage than found in usual compsns.
