Abstract
The power generation system consists of a large number of railway wagons coupled end to end. Each wagon carries a number of aerofoil blades mounted on vertical shafts. The wagons are divided into two groups, one group running on an inner loop of railway line with the blades aligned to run in one direction. The other group of wagons with blades aligned to run in the opposite direction. A guide track between the railway lines engages a roller so that the blades change their angle of attack as they move around the curve at each end of the railway line. About 8000 hp can be generated using 50 wagons.
