Abstract

The stackable packing tray, particularly suitable for production in expanded polystyrene, is divided into two square compartments and has upward projections (6, 7, 8) of the walls at the corners and at the ends of the transverse partition. The projections locate in complementary sockets (12, 13, 15, 14, 17, 16) in the base of the tray above. The compartments are square and the projections and sockets so designed that the trays may be staggered like bricks in a wall or turned at right angles to each other when in stacked. A second form of tray allows the open faces to be put together to form closed containers. Both forms of container enable stable stacking.
