Abstract

Syringe involves two reservoirs in an integral moulding, the plunger for the lower chamber acting as a rotary valve to permit addn. of liq. from the upper chamber to the lower chamber prior to discharging from the lower chamber. The device is used e.g. for mixing a powdered material with (lyophilic) solvent or for mixing two reagents. The double reservoir body may be a plastics moulding, and may incorporate passages for pressure equilibration between the two reservoirs; pref. the passages are blocked by the posn. of the piston.
