Abstract

A mechanical arrangement for the construction of a balance type weighing which provides smooth performance under cross moments is presented. The main component consists of a long T-section lever (1) to which is attached, via a suitable slightly sprung mechanism, the plate (14) to which the weighing surface is in turn attached. This part consists of a pressure element (17) of cylindrical form at one end of which a spring element (18) is attached. The other end has a further pressure element (23). This, in turn, rests on the main balance edge (6) of the machine. Further adjustable edges (4, 5) are mounted at the far end of the main lever (1). The various edges are adjustable so that accurate setting can be obtained.
