Abstract

The cassette recording unit is coin-operated and has a count-down display for indicating the amount of time available, and a keyboard selection unit, allowing the type of cassette, the required tape track sections, and the order in which they are played, to be selected. The selection unit is connected to a temporary store for containing the reference codes relating to a selected cassette, and a second temporary store for the reference codes relating to the selected track sections. The cassettes are held in a magazine and the selected track sections are stored on a master tape, together with the address of each section. The required sections are reproduced from the master tape and then re-recorded on the selected cassette.
