Abstract

The device is for a pneumatic screwdriver and enables the operator to stop, start and change the sense of screwdriver rotation while holding the screwdrive with a single hand, using a trigger (7) sliding within a pistol type handle (1) to effect control. The screwdriver incorporates a pneumatic motor driving a screwdriver blade and a mechanism for inversion of the sense of blade rotation. Inversion is effected by a cam (11) which acts on a counter sprung (18) ring (15) which reverses the sense of axle (16) rotation. The trigger (7) is a recoil sprung and the trigger moves the cam to three positions corresponding to clockwise rotation, anti-clockwise rotation and stopping of the motor.
