Abstract

Heat transfer take splace between two sections of a straight airtight tube, containing operating fluid which has fluid and vaporous phases at operative temp., the former being held in one section up to a level below the height of the component forming this section. There may be more than one capillary groove in the walling, with openings narrower than their depth, and running along the inside periphery. These are pref. made by cutting and bending strips from the inner walling, along a continuous helical track.
