Abstract

The switch consists of a rigid plate (1) of insulating material with, on one of its faces, fixed electric contacts (2). Next to this plate (1) is situated a second small thickness, insulating material and flexible plate (3) which has holes (4) for the contacts (2) and its thickness is greater than the height of the contacts (2). Next to this plate (3) there is a metal wire grid (5) and next to this grid (5) there is a flexible insulating material sheet (7). By finger pressure (F) onto the sheet (7) the grid (5) can be deflected and make contact with the fixed contacts (2). A reliable touch switch is thus obtained as the grid (5) can be subjected to local non-permanent deflection and recover immediately.
