Abstract

The apparatus uses two ordinary skis and has feet which fit into the ski bindings. The feet are steered by two sticks moved respectively by the right and left hands of the rider and can tilt the skis and steer them to left and right. Toeholds may be added near the front of the skis to accommodate the rider's feet. The rider sits in a bucket seat running on rollers on a shallow 'U' shaped plank so that it can be moved to left or right for steering by weight transfer, but is biassed towards the centre. The seat is sprung by means of coil springs on the supports for the end of the plank and a rubber pad under the seat.
