Abstract
A semiconductor laser (2) emits a luminous transmission through an optical system (1). The laser is powered from a power supply (3) comprising a power supply circuit (4) with modulator (5) which modulates the excitation current (I). The modulation is generated in a circuit (6) comprising a coded signal generator (8) with coding circuit (9) and synchronisation circuit (7). Received signals pass through an optical system (11) to a photoreceiver (13). Video frequency output signal is amplified (14) and limited (15) for application to a circuit (16) for correlation with the delayed (17) modulation signal (51). The output is integrated (19) for comparison with a reference level (20) to activate a firing pulse circuit (21).
