Abstract

Semi-circular cross section frames are disposed at longitudinal intervals to support the canvas, and are supported on wheels travelling on parallel longitudinal rails. This mode of erection does not involve the use of skilled labour and enables frame spacing to be increased and heavy gauge canvas to be utilized. Specially designed covered lorries transport folded units and lower them into rails at the erection site, and the frames are moved along the rails so that a concertina folded tubular covering over the frames is extended the required amount. Spacing bars and inflatable frames are then erected.
