Abstract

A set of blades (2) is mounted on a hexagonal drive shaft (1) at the open bottom of a delivery chute. Each blade is staggered with respect to the next to form a helix. The front face of the chute consists of a sloping set of blocks (3) in the form of a comb, the cutter blades passing through the spaces between the teeth. The lower portion of each block is serrated. Each block consists of two serrated plates with their teeth (6) staggered. At a lower level is another comb (7) made up of plain blocks. The gap (E1) between the lower corners of the leading faces of these blocks and the teeth is smaller than the gap (E2) between the hexagonal shaft (1) and the teeth.
