Abstract

An automatic door closer for glass doors, as in the main patent, uses a die cast zinc outer casing (57, 58) to simplify the design with two steel tube inserts (59, 60). These house oppositely acting hydraulic pistons, a main one (61) and another containing springs (63) which are at different levels, and which act against upper (68) and lower (67) cams to give the braking action to the door. A return channel (69) for return of oil for the hydraulic braking system contains an adjustment screw (70), and forms part of a braking system to oppose the force of gusts of wind against the door. The design can be combined with the screw and wheel production gear of the main patent and a standard flush fixing floor pivot.
