Abstract

The valve has inlet (2) and outlet (3) ports for the supply of pressurised fluid to the rear brakes and has inlet (6) and outlet (7) ports for the front brakes. When the pressure rises for the rear brakes, a plunger (14) with a spring (17) around it is oscillated against a ball (21) in a piston (26) at right angles to it to regulate the pressure. When the pressure for the front brakes falls, this piston is lifted by a spring (31) and tilts a rod (29) to actuate a micro-switch (30) to equalise the pressure. At the same time the position of the spring loaded ball (21) is altered, and a rod (18) on the end of the plunger (14) travels forwards over the ball so that the plunger moves to cut off the pressure to the rear brakes.
