Abstract
Heat losses associated with use of water as working fluid, with its high latent heat of vaporisation are reduced by using a hydrocarbon as working fluid, heated supercritically by pressurised water, the critical temp. and pressure of the hydrocarbon being lower than those of the water. The main heat exchanger has a secondary side specif. designed as a supercritical boiler for the hydrocarbon working fluid.
