Abstract

Welding electrodes for repairing protective layers on working surfaces on articles working under conditions requiring high resistance to abrasion and cavitation comprises a core of hardenable alloy steel coated with a layer comprising 10-30% marble, 50-80% fluorspar, 2-4% Al powder, 2-8% iron powder, 0.1-6% ferromolybdenum and 0.1-6% Cr are opt. additives. The layer produced has a martensitic structure which is more hard-wearing than the austenitic coating applied in prior art. The coating is bonded with sodium silicate and hardened.
