Abstract

Catalysts for the redn. of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases from IC engines comprise Ru as activeve phase on a support (esp. Al2O3, aluminosilicate, spinel, silica gel or a refractory metal or alloy). Prefd. catalysts contain 0.01-0.5 wt.% Ru, 0.2-10 wt.% Cu and 0.1-5 wt% Cr, and opt. also Ni. The catalysts do not suffer a drop in activity in the presence of residual O2.
