Abstract

The extruded foam core, of polystyrene or a suitable polymer, is wrapped in an aluminium foil carrying a heat-reactive adhesive backing, such as a thermoplastic vinyl lacquer, or suitable resins or polymers, with the foil edges overlapping, to be passed through a heat stage to activate the adhesive and bond the foil to the core. Designed for decorative furniture/interior decorating/automobile applications, the purpose is to provide a trim which is of non-flammable materials.
