Abstract

Liquid raw material is injected under pressure by a nozzle into a refrigeration chamber where it is frozen and then collected in granular form in a collecting chamber. The injection nozzle opens into a Venturi tube refrigeration chamber and connected to a compressed gas supply whose overpressure is sufficient during adiabatic expansion to freeze the raw material. Provision is made for an outlet to evacuate the refrigeration chamber.
