Abstract

The machine comprises means for feeding the mushrooms in a vertical position, one behind the other, with the stalks downwards together with a device for cutting the unedible portion from the lower end of the stalks and at a pre-determined distance from the head. The mushroom heads rest on two conveyor belts having horizontal and co-planar operating stands; they are carried forward to another set of cutters where a section is removed at a definite distance from the base of the head. The stalk can be cut into slices of a definite thickness, if desired.
