CONSISTE EN APLICAR A LAS SUPERFICIES CONTAMINADAS, A LA TEMPERATURA AMBIENTE, UNA DISOLUCION ACUOSA DE UN AGENTE OXIDANTE, CONSTITUIDO POR 0,5-2 G/L DE NITRATO DE CERIO (IV), 0,05-0,2 G/L DE ACIDO CROMICO Y 0,005-0,015 G/L DE OZONO, ACIDIFICADA A UN PH APROXIMADAMENTE 1 CON ACIDO NITRICO, DURANTE EL TIEMPO NECESARIO PARA QUE SE PRODUZCA LA DISOLUCION DE DICHOS MATERIALES DE CORROSION. TIENE APLICACIONES PARA DESCONTAMINAR MATERIALES, ESPECIALMENTE OXIDO DE CROMO (III), CON RADIONUCLIDOS, DE LAS PAREDES DEL SISTEMA PRIMARIO DE CALENTAMIENTO, EN REACTORES NUCLEARES DEL TIPO DE AGUA A PRESION.
