Abstract
The invention relates to a medium-load power station (1, 44) with an integrated coal gasification plant (2, 45), with a gas turbine power station section connected to the coal gasification plant, with a steam power station section connected to the crude gas heat exchange installation (3, 46) of the coal gasification plant and with a methanol synthesis plant (9, 49, 71). In such a medium-load power station, more methanol is to be produced at times of reduced power requirement. The problem then arises of adjusting the composition of the residual synthesis gas, now no longer burned in the gas turbine, to the stoichiometric ratio required for the methanol synthesis. For this purpose, the invention provides that, for hydrogen enrichment, the methanol synthesis plant is associated with a so-called cooler/saturator circulation (63, 73) connected to the crude gas heat exchange installation and consisting of saturator (64), shift conversion plant (65), cooler (66, 67) and downstream gas purification plant (68). Furthermore, the methanol synthesis plant can also be associated with a water electrolysis plant (40) whose hydrogen line (42) is connected via a compressor (43) to the methanol synthesis plant. A medium-load power station according to the invention is suitable for using fossil fuels.
