Abstract

Hoisting top side modues on to offshore support structures employs the buoyancy of a hoisting vessel to lift a module from its tow barge and lower it into its support position. The hoisting vessels' hull is in the form of two parallel members, spaced far enough apart to accommodate a tow barge, and a transverse caisson joining the two members at one end only. The hoisting vessel is towed to the location and the barge carrying the module is docked inside the hulls' three sides. The module is attached to the hoisting vessel which is deballasted, lifting the module off the barge. The reverse process is used to lower the module on to the support structure. Used for erection of deck modules in the offshore oil industry. - The appts. comprises two parallel hull members and connected together rigidly by a transverse caisson. The appts. can be located and manoeuvred by eight anchors controlled by eight winches. The longitudinal hull members comprise in each case a submerged member in addition to the aforementioned upper members. EPAB- EP--90006 B Loadlifting and transort device with adjustable buoyancy for operations at sea, said device consisting of two parallel groups of floats connected at one of their ends, each group comprising a horizontal float to which vertical floats are fixed by one of their ends, the other ends being fixed to longitudinal beams, one end of one group being connected to one end of the other group by a transverse horizontal float and a distance element, characterised in that the longitudinal beams carry movable transverse support beams adapted to move along their longitudinal axis to be positioned beneath aload to be lifted and transported. - (14pp) - EP--90006 B Load lifting and transport device with adjustable buoyancy for operations at sea, said device consisting of two parallel groups of floats connected at one of their ends, each group comprising a horizontal float to which vertical floats are fixed by one of their ends, the other ends being fixed to longitudinal beams, one end of one group being connected to one end of the other group by a transverse horizontal float and a distance element, characterised in that the longitudinal beams carry movable transverse support beams adapted to move along their longitudinal axis to be positioned beneath aload to be lifted and transported. USAB- US4556004 A Adjustable buoyancy device for lifting and transporting a fully equipped deck comprises two parallel gp of floats each having a horizontal and a vertical float with one end of the vertical float connected to the horizontal float and the other end to a longitudinal beam. - Supporting beams are movable along the longitudinal beams and cooperate with the load to be lifted. Float gps are connects to each other. (11pp)
