CONSISTE EN SOMETER A UNA MEZCLA DE HIDROCARBUROS QUE CONTIENEN ASFALTENOS (CORRIENTE 1) A UN HIDROTRATAMIENTO CATALITICO OBTENIENDOSE UN PRODUCTO CON BAJO CONTENIDO DE ASFALTENOS, DEL QUE SE SEPARAN UNA O MAS FRACCIONES DESTILADAS Y UNA FRACCION PESADA (CORRIENTE 2). DICHA CORRIENTE 2 SE SOMETE A DESASFALTACION POR DISOLVENTE Y CRAQUEO TERMICO DE MANERA QUE SE OBTIENE UN PRODUCTO QUE CONTIENE MENOS DEL 20% EN PESO DE HIDROCARBUROS C(4) Y DEL QUE SE SEPARAN UNA O UNAS FRACCIONES DESTILADAS Y UNA FRACCION PESADA (CORRIENTE 5). LA CORRIENTE 3 O 2 SE USAN COMO ALIMENTACION DEL TRATAMIENTO DE CRAQUEO TERMICO Y LA CORRIENTE 5 COMO ALIMENTACION AL TRATAMIENTO DE DESASFALTACION.
