Abstract

Procedimiento para la obtención de látex de caucho carboxilado, esencialmente libre de vetas, con alta tensión superficial, por polimerización de una mezcla de monómeros de 0,5 a 10 partes en peso de uno o varios ácidos mono- o di-carboxílicos alfa, beta-monoetilénicamente insaturados y 90 hasta 99,5 partes en peso de una mezcla de 10 hasta 90 partes en peso de uno o varios dienos conjugados acíclicos, conteniendo de 4 a 9 átomos de carbono, y 10 hasta 90 partes en peso de uno o varios monómeros de arilvinilo conteniendo 8 hasta 12 átomos de carbono y/o (met)acrilonitrilo, ascendiendo la cantidad de (met)acrilonitrilo como máximo a 50 partes en peso, en fase acuosa en presencia de 0 hasta 0,5 partes en peso, calculado sobre el monómero total, de uno o varios emulsionantes hidrosolubles del tipo sulfato y/o sulfonato, caracterizado porque la polimerización se realiza a una temperatura superior a 50ºC empleando un peroxidisulfato como iniciador y en presencia de un ácido mercaptocarboxílico correspondiente a la fórmula HS- (CH(sub, 2))(sub, x)- CO(sub, 2)H donde x es un número entero de 1 a 3, y/o las sales hidrosolubles del mismo.
