Procedure for the hardening of aminoplast resins by means of latent hardeners, characterized in that effective amounts of a phthalic acid semi-ester are added to the aminoplast resins with a polyalcohilenglicol of a molecular weight of 100 to 800, neutralized with an aliphatic amino, cycloaliphatic or heterocyclic or with a mixture of these amines, which has been obtained by reaction of phthalic acid anhydride and the aforementioned polyalcohilenglicol in the molar ratio of 1: 2 by heating at 120 to 140ºC for 10 to 40 minutes, and the resin of aminoplast is heated to a temperature at which the hardener develops its catalytic activity.
