Improvements in the manufacture of taps, of the type comprising a faucet body with a water conduit, the conduit having an inlet mouth and an outlet mouth, a closure element for opening or closing the conduit, a stem of axially movable closure in the appropriate direction to move the closure element in order to open or close the conduit, and an axially immovable actuation rod, the closure element rod and the actuation rod being housed in mutually threaded engagement, rotating the actuation rod to move the rod of the closing element axially, in an alternative way, to open or close the conduit, characterized in that said actuator rod is mounted in a rotatable manner in direct coupling with the body of the tap, providing means of retention to retain the actuation rod axially immobile with respect to the body of the tap.
