Abstract

Improvements in the construction of anti-pollution devices for internal combustion engines, consisting of plates provided with at least one bore and interposed between a carburettor and an intake manifold through which a mixture of fuel and air endowed with hydrocarbons flows without mixing, the bore of the plates being concentrically aligned with corresponding ones of the carburettor and the intake manifold, respectively, characterized in that said plates comprise a first duct that surrounds said bore, a first channel that connects the first mentioned duct with supplementary air, a series of holes between said drill and the aforementioned first duct, which provide an outlet for supplemental air to said drill, a second duct located in a vertical plane different from that containing the first duct, a second channel that connects one end of the second conduit with the drill for the exit of a greater amount of supplemental air to such a hole, when the motor decelerates, with respect to the amount of supplemental air that usually through the aforementioned holes, a valve that communicates with supplemental air at one end and has a second end connected to the second end of the said second duct, and in which device one of said holes in the aforementioned plates comprises a series of vertical sections including a cylindrical, a convergent and a divergent, and in which the second conduit ends in said cylindrical section holes and the first duct opens into the holes of the divergent section, by virtue of which supplemental air enters the first channel and is conducted through the aforementioned series of holes to exit through the divergent section during all phases of operation of the engine, thus determining the flow of the fuel-air mixture a cyclonic scheme and the minute or mixed with air from the unmixed hydrocarbons, thus providing a large amount of supplemental air through said valve for its exit through said cylindrical section when the engine is decelerating.
