Abstract
A plate heat exchanger e.g. for cooling oil of vehicle motors, comprises an outer housing formed of two stamped, complementary parts 1, 2 having holes 18a for positioning locating pins 20, 21 on which hollow heat exchange elements are slid by means of aligned holes, are superposed above the other and thereafter the two housing parts are secured together by clips 10 engaging slideways 9 formed by end flaps of the sections, the assembled heat exchanger being subsequently submitted to a brazing operation. The heat exchanger is made of aluminium and the elements each comprise two complementary stamped parts having at least two fluid inlet and outlet chambers 13, 14 at each end connected by two ducts 15. Corrugated elements 22 which create turbulence may be positioned within the heat exchange elements, gills may be interposed between successive elements and bracing elements 23 may be secured between flange rims of the housing parts 1, 2.
