Abstract
Improvements introduced in the manufacture of viscosity index improvers for lubricating oils, characterized in that they comprise a block copolymer having stereo-regular hydrocarbon polymer blocks with low oil solubility characteristics that are insoluble in oil to a temperature below 0º C, and amorphous blocks of hydrocarbon polymers of at least 50% of the molecular weight of said regular stereo block and oil-soluble at temperatures above -20º C, said stereo-regular blocks of polymers being capable of hydrocarbons when incorporated in said copolymer, of being solvated progressively in oil with the increase of the temperature, with a complete solvation at a temperature below 150º C.
