Abstract

A container (1), particularly suitable for containing water-based liquids and the like, comprising a containment body (2) having an upper mouth (3) delimited by a metal ring (4) that is associated with said containment body (2) and can be engaged by pressing with a closure (5), said metal ring (4) being provided in part by a sealed band (8a) which is covered with plastic at least in the region of said metal ring (4) which it is adapted to face the interior of said containment body (2) to prevent direct contact of the water-based liquid substance contained in said containment body (2) with said metal ring (4), characterized by the fact of that said closure (5) is disk-shaped and comprises an internal edge (6) that protrudes in an axial direction, extending axially into the containment body (2) and adapted to be inserted into said upper mouth (3) of ta l way to form an outer stop ring (7), said metal ring (4) being attached to said upper mouth (3) to be level with the inner part of said containment body (2) and to form a circular groove (10) which is radially internal to said internal wall (9), a circular edge (12) being provided on the lower base (11) of said containment body (2), wherein said circular edge (12) protrudes axially of said lower base (11) and is complementary to said circular groove (10) for stable stacking of said container (1) with another underlying container (1).

DESCRIPTION

CONTAINER, PARTICULARLY ADEQUATE TO CONTAIN WATER BASED AND SIMILAR LIQUIDS

The present invention refers to a container, particularly suitable for containing water-based liquids and the like.

As is known, boats, particularly boats intended to contain paints and the like, are constituted by a main body that is generally cylindrical with a circular base, is made of plastic material and has a metal ring that delimits the mouth for access to said container .

This metal ring, which is generally attached to the inner wall of the container body and is made of ferrous material, is adapted to accommodate a snap closure to form a tight seal.

These containers of a known type are not free from disadvantages, which include the fact that since the substances contained therein are water-based, the metal ring and the closure, if made of ferrous materials, are subject to oxidation, which leads to the formation of rust.

Another drawback of containers of the known type is that they cannot normally be stacked inside each other, since their flat bottom allows mutual sliding with the consequent collapse of the container stack.

Another drawback of containers of the known type resides in the fact that the metal ring generally protrudes inwards with respect to the walls of the container body, and this characteristic does not allow the complete and correct emptying of said container, since an accumulation point of The substance contained is formed.

WO 1997 41403, on which the preamble of claim 1 is based, shows a container having a body with a ring, a closure and a plastic coated part.

The objective of the present invention is to provide a container, particularly suitable for containing water-based liquids and the like, that is not subject to oxidation of its parts, to have a longer life than containers of the known type and not to alter the properties physicochemical of the substance contained and provide a container that can be stacked easily.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a container, particularly suitable for water-based liquids and the like, that is highly reliable, relatively simple to provide and has competitive costs compared to the prior art.

This objective and this and other objects that will be apparent better in the following are achieved by a container, particularly suitable for maintaining water-based liquids and the like, comprising a containment body having an upper mouth delimited by a metal ring that is associated with said containment body and can be engaged by pressing with a closure, said metal ring being partially provided by a sealed band that is covered with plastic at least in the region of said metal ring that is adapted to face the interior of said containment body to prevent direct contact of the water-based liquid substance contained in said containment body with said metal ring, in which said closure is in the form of a disk and comprises an internal edge that protrudes in an axial direction, extending axially towards the inside the containment body and adapted to be inserted and n said upper mouth and in such a way to form an outer stop ring, said metal ring being attached to said upper mouth to be level with the inner part of said containment body and thus form a circular groove that is radially internal to said inner wall at the bottom base of said containment body, a circular edge being provided at the bottom base of said containment body, wherein said circular edge protrudes axially from said bottom base and is complementary to said circular groove for stable stacking of said container with another underlying container.

Other features and advantages of the invention will be better apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of a container, particularly suitable for containing water-based liquids and the like according to the invention, illustrated by non-limiting example. in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 2 is an enlarged view, along an axial section plane, of a detail of the container according to the invention;

5 With reference to the figures, the container particularly suitable for containing water-based liquids and

similar, generally designated by reference number 1, comprises a containment body 2 made of plastic material, such as polypropylene, which has a cylindrical shape with a circular base and is provided with an upper mouth 3 delimited by a metal ring 4 which for example is made of a ferrous material and is associated with the containment body 2 and can be hooked by pressing with a closure 5.

10 According to the invention, the metal ring 4 is provided in part by a sealed band 8a which is covered with

plastic at least in the region of the metal ring 4 which is adapted to face the interior of the containment body 2 to prevent direct contact of the water-based liquid substance contained in the containment body 2 with the metal ring 4.

Advantageously, the closure 5 has a disk-like shape and comprises an inner edge 6 that protrudes in an axial direction, is adapted to be inserted in the upper mouth 3 and is such as to form an outer stop ring 7.

More precisely, the closure 5 can also be made of a ferrous material. In this case it is covered by a plastic coating layer 8b that is formed at least in the region of the closure 5 that is adapted to face the interior of the containment body 2 to prevent direct contact of the water-based liquid substance 20 contained in the containment body 2 with the cap 5.

As for the metal ring, it is attached to the upper mouth 3 to be level with the inner wall 9 of the containment body 2 and to form a circular groove 10 that is radially internal to the inner wall 9.

In addition, on the lower base 11 of the containment body 2 there is a circular edge 12 that protrudes axially from the lower base 11 and is complementary to the circular groove 10 for stable stacking of two containers, as shown in the figures 1 and 2.

Advantageously, the body of the container 1 may decrease slightly and in this case, as shown in Figure 3a, the circular edge 12 is an extension of the container body and rests against the circular groove 10 of said underlying container when two containers are stacked,

In practice it has been found that the container according to the invention fully achieves the objective and the intended objects, since it prevents direct contact between the contained aqueous substance and its parts that are subject to oxidation.

Another advantage of the container according to the invention lies in the fact that it can be stacked easily in a stable manner.

The container, particularly adapted to contain water-based liquids and the like, conceived in this way, is susceptible to numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.

A container (1), particularly suitable for containing water-based liquids and the like, comprising a containment body (2) having an upper mouth (3) delimited by a metal ring (4) that is associated with said body of containment (2) and can be engaged by pressing with a closure (5), said metal ring (4) being provided in part by a sealed band (8a) that is covered with plastic at least in the region of said metal ring (4 ) which is adapted to face the interior of said containment body (2) to prevent direct contact of the water-based liquid substance contained in said containment body (2) with said metal ring (4), characterized by the the fact that said closure (5) is disk-shaped and comprises an internal edge (6) that protrudes in an axial direction, extending axially into the containment body (2) and adapted to be inserted in said upper mouth (3 ) from such as to form an outer stop ring (7), said metal ring (4) being attached to said upper mouth (3) to be level with the inner part of said containment body (2) and to form a circular groove (10) which is radially internal to said internal wall (9), a circular edge (12) being provided on the lower base (11) of said containment body (2), wherein said circular edge (12) protrudes axially of said lower base (11) and is complementary to said circular groove (10) for stable stacking of said container (1) with another underlying container (1).

2. The container (1) according to claim (1), characterized in that said containment body (2) is made of plastic material.

The container (1) according to claim (1), characterized in that said closure (5) is made of metal and is coated with a plastic layer (8b) that is formed at least in the region of said closure (5) which is adapted to face the interior of said containment body (2) to prevent direct contact of the water-based liquid substance contained in said containment body (2) with said closure (5).

The container (1) according to claim (1), characterized in that said containment body (2) is conical and said circular edge (12) constitutes an extension of the side wall of said containment body (2 ).

4 CLAIMS 1. A container (1), particularly suitable for containing aqueous-based liquids and the like, comprising a containment body (2) having an upper mouth (3) delimited by a metal ring (4) that is associated with said containment body (2) and can be engaged by pressing with a closure 5 (5), said metal ring (4) being provided in part by a sealed band (8a) that is covered with plastic at least in the region of said ring metal (4) that is adapted to face the inside of said containment body (2) to prevent direct contact of the aqueous-based liquid substance contained in said containment body (2) with said metal ring (4), characterized in that said closure (5) is disk-shaped and comprises an internal edge (6) that protrudes in an axial direction, extending axially towards the interior of the containment body (2) and adapted to be inserted into said upper mouth r (3) in such a way as to form an outer stop ring (7), said metal ring (4) being attached to said upper mouth (3) to be level with the inside of said containment body (2) and to form a circular groove (10) that is radially internal to said internal wall (9), a circular edge (12) being provided at the lower base (11) of said containing body (2), wherein said edge circular (12) protrudes axially from said lower base (11) and is complementary to said circular groove (10) for stable stacking of said container (1) with another underlying container (1). The container (1) according to claim (1), characterized in that said containment body (2) is made of plastic material. The container (1) according to claim (1), characterized in that said closure (5) is made of metal and is covered with a plastic layer (8b) that is formed at least in the region of said closure (5) that is adapted to face the inside of said containment body (2) to prevent direct contact of the aqueous-based liquid substance contained in said containment body (2) with said closure (5). The container (1) according to claim (1), characterized in that said containment body (2) is conical and said circular edge (12) constitutes an extension of the side wall of said containment body ( 2).
