Abstract
This is a hydrofoil with sail, in which the navigator stands, holding the sail 8 in a similar manner to a windsurfing sail. Buoyancy is obtained by means of a hull 1 and two floats on each side 2 the hydrofoils 19, 26 and 27 are in canard configuration, the front one 19 carrying direction and depth control. In order to be stable in the air, it carries a principal arrow-shaped wing 3 with slats (flaps) 10 and ailerons 7. The sail 8 has a thick profile and variable configuration, with the boom 9 on a single side. The navigator is secured to the hull by means of a platform 17 which rotates to both sides. Movement of the rearmost foot actuates depth controls 5. The transverse inclination of the sail provides control in terms of direction and warping, giving the navigator stability. It has a system for compensating for this inclination and a system for adjusting the harness cable.
