Abstract
The load (10) is electrically isolated from the monitoring device. The switching device (50) has at least one associated load operating parameter sensor (20), at least one associated memory device and at least one memory device in which load operating characteristics are placed when initializing the switching device and/or during monitoring. The switching device opens on reaching/exceeding a defined operating characteristic value. Independent claims are also included for the following: a switching device for monitoring an electric load.
