Abstract

Apparatus (10) for dispensing post-taping adhesive to a corner joint wallboard (drywall) has a barrel (12) provided with a piston grip (14) at one end for manipulating the apparatus and a nozzle (36) removably mounted on the other end of the barrel for directing and dispensing joint adhesive over tape at the joint. The adhesive flows from a reservoir through the barrel and nozzle from a pump mounted on an adhesive reservoir controlled by a trigger (26) on the barrel which can electrically shut down the pump motor. Universally mounted on one end of the nozzle is an adhesive spreader (60) having a frame (62) in surrounding relation to the nozzle orifice (50) and having relatively rotatable portions disposed normal to each other to closely follow and adjust to the contour of the corner joint as the adhesive is dispensed through the orifice and spread on the tape along the corner joint.
