Definitions
- the subject of the invention is an anti-burglary mechanism for roller shutters and the method thereof or more precisely, a mechanism for blocking slats of a closed or partially open roller shutter or insect screen on windows or doors, whereby the shutter slats will make it possible to block closed or partially open roller shutters in three fixed positions in regards to the lower part of the window, door or insect screen.
- a technical problem to be solved by this invention is an indication of an anti-burglary mechanism for roller shutters and of a method thereof, that will make it possible to block a closed or partially open roller shutter at three blocking positions that will be positioned at such a small distance between the end slat and the window sill or the door threshold that will prevent unwanted entry of the persons into the living space of a building.
- a partially open roller shutter will be secured also in the position of ventilation when the slats are spaced apart.
- the construction of said anti-burglary mechanism enables its installation into all known types of side guides of the roller shutters without their disassembly, and also enables simple replacement of mechanisms of external concealed roller shutters.
- the construction of the anti-burglary mechanism will be simple to manufacture, install and use. In addition, in window, door or insect guides, it will be easy to replace the existing blocking mechanism with the anti-burglary mechanism according to the present invention.
- a roller shutter installation comprising a device for locking the roller shutter, which consists of a frame and a mouthpiece with a cursor.
- the frame is attached, with its resting surface, within the roller shutter side guide, whereby perpendicularly to the resting surface, three elastic curved or serpentine tabs are formed.
- the upper tab acts as a cursor router in the direction of the intermediate elastic tab below it, while the lower two elastic tabs have the function of blocking, in the sense of blocking the partially open roller shutter in two blocking spots that are made with a distance between them.
- the problem of simple and effective anti-burglary mechanism construction without elastic deformable parts on the frame for guiding the movement of the cursor remains unsolved, the production thereof is demanding and their useful life is relatively short as there is a possibility of mechanical damage or of aging of the plastic material they are made of.
- the problem of forming the blocking or anti-burglary mechanism is still not solved that will enable more than two blocking spots or more than two positions of a closed or partially open roller shutter where a larger height of partial opening during ventilation appears, which increases the risk of unwanted entry of a person into the living space.
- roller shutter side guides must be dismantled or in some cases changed first. It also remains an unsolved problem of an execution of a blocking mechanism, which will be able to be installed in all types of side guides, and not only in certain types, i.e. side guides adapted to it.
- the invention is defined by an anti-burglary mechanism according to claim 1 and by a method of its operation according to claim 7, that will enable safe setting of the distance between the end slat and the lower part of the door, window or insect screen in three blocking spots.
- its construction will enable an installation of the anti-burglary mechanism in all types of roller shutter side guides, but will also enable its installation and disassembly without the need for prior disassembly of the side guides.
- the objective of the development was to develop a relatively simple and standard anti-burglary mechanism construction with a blocking function that will ensure high degree of safety when the roller shutter is partially open.
- the invention essentially discloses an anti-burglary mechanism for roller shutters with an original construction of a guiding element for guiding the guide pin of a mouthpiece that will be carried out without deformable parts and that will enable anti-burglary blocking of the roller shutter at three blocking spots and at a various distance between the roller shutter end slat and the lower part of the window or door.
- the invention discloses a method of anti-burglary mechanism operation of such an innovative structure.
- the original guiding element construction along with the mouthpiece discloses the option of installing or replacing the anti-burglary mechanism without previous disassembling of side guides, as well as its characteristic standard assembly, which can be simply installed into all known types of side guides for guiding roller shutter slats.
- the shutter is mounted on the outside of windows or doors as a blind, and contains an assembly of winding mechanism with interconnected lamellae that are slidably inserted into the side guides.
- the shutter can also be mounted above the window or above the door, as an upright or overhead shutter. The following description will introduce the classic or standard shutters.
- a roller shutter is mounted outside of windows or doors, and includes an assembly of a winding mechanism with slats that are movably interconnected and that are inserted into two side guides with their ends so that they can slide.
- the roller shutter can also be mounted above the window or door as above-window or above-door roller shutter.
- the description below refers to a classical or standard roller shutter.
- the anti-burglary mechanism with the blocking function essentially comprises a guiding element and a mouthpiece.
- the guiding element is formed by a guide plate with guide channels and a slender outgrowth, and a supporting plate that is perpendicular to it and that has a mounting hole to be mounted on the wall of the guide channel of a side guide.
- the mouthpiece is a flat housing into which a spring with a slider on one side and a guide pin on the other side of it are integrated, whereby the latter can move linearly within the open elongated cut-out. At the elongated cut-out, a protruding sliding plug is carried out.
- an individual roller shutter has two such mechanisms, the guiding elements of which are placed and fixed at the same height, i.e. at the same distance from the lower part of both guides and at the same distance from the lower part of the window or door.
- Each guiding element is inserted into the corresponding guide channel of the side guide in the direction of its longitudinal axis so that their longitudinal axes run parallel.
- the guiding element is attached to the side guide, i.e. to the back wall of its guide channel in a fixed way via mounting hole in the supporting plate so that the guide plate perpendicular to it and with guide channels is positioned on the internal side plane of the guide channel.
- the guide plate of the guiding element is in the same plane as the larger surface of the slat roller shutter, whereas the supporting plate is perpendicular to the same larger plane of the roller shutter.
- the mouthpiece is, at one end where a spring with a slider is located, tightly inserted into the interior of a hollow end slat so that the guide pin in the elongated cut-out is outside said end slat. This applies to both the left and right mounting place of the mouth piece in the end slat.
- the end slat With the free ends of both mouthpieces, the end slat is inserted into the guide channels of both side guides so that it, together with them, slides freely along the longitudinal cut-out of both guide channels.
- the slat set is then positioned within the entire length of the side guides, and it is with the initial slat attached to an unshown shaft of the winding mechanism.
- the anti-burglary mechanism with the blocking function for roller shutters operates in such a way that the guide pin that slides within and lengthwise of the elongated cut-out on the front part of the mouthpiece forward and backward moves freely along the guide channel of the corresponding side guide of the roller shutter until it reaches the closed guide channel on the guiding element, and it travels further along it in a guided way.
- the end slat with the mouthpiece reaches the first blocking spot, the movement of the guide pin of the mouthpiece and thereby the movement of the end slat is stopped and the individual slats above it begin to load on it one after another sequentially, causing the shutter to close and darken the living space.
- the slats when the end slat with the guide pin reaches the first blocking spot, are raised so that the guide pin with the end slat reaches the second blocking spot. At this spot, the guide pin and the end slat stop but the remaining slats are still being raised until the slats are not fully stretched out. When the slats are fully stretched out, the raising is stopped. In this position, the slats are stretched by means of the end slat between the second blocking spot and the shaft of the winding mechanism, the electrical motor of which prevents the slats from being pulled downwards.
- the roller shutter slats are released, which means that the mouthpiece with the guide pin and the end slat is moved from the second blocking spot to the third blocking spot.
- This movement causes that all the slats start moving down until they are placed tightly to each other. Thereby the room is made completely dark and the ventilation phase is over.
- the electric motor pushes the slats with the end slat towards the lower part of the guiding element by as much to make it impossible to pull them up, which represents an anti-burglary function of the roller shutter also in this case.
- the last phase in the operation of the anti-burglary mechanism comprises the release of slats and afterwards their raising in the direction of the winding mechanism.
- the guide pin of the mouthpiece travels along the open guide channel of the guiding element until it leaves its conical outgrowth and then further towards the winding mechanism.
- roller shutter anti-burglary mechanism and the method of its operation according to the present invention are more precisely described, on the basis of a feasibility example of a window roller shutter and figures, which show as follows:
- a roller shutter 1 comprises slats 2, which slide with their ends inside guide channels 5a and 5b and are, on one side, attached to the axis of a winding mechanism 3, whereas the other side is free.
- slats 2 When pulling up slats 2, they wind on the axis of the winding mechanism 3 and when pulling them down, they unwind from the axis.
- the end slat 2.1 is pulled up or down, the end slat 2.1, which can rest on the window sill 4 and thus veils it, or it can also be fully or partially open and thus away from the window sill 4 by a certain distance H.
- a component part of the roller shutter 1 is also a pair of anti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1 according to the invention, which are fixed via guiding element 7 to the side guide 5a and 5b, respectively so that both guiding elements 7 are away from the window sill 4 or the lower part of the side guides 5a and 5b by the same distance.
- the mouthpieces 8 of the mechanisms 6, 6.1 are in a tight fit inserted into the corresponding ends of the end slat 2.1, which together with the other slats 2 is vertically movable inside the side guides 5a and 5b of the roller shutter 1.
- One previously mentioned mouthpiece 8 is inserted into both side openings of the end slat 2.1, so that its head with an elongated cut-out 21 and a guide pin 18, which can be moved lengthwise inside it, and a sliding ridge 19 protrudes out of it.
- the described is shown in Fig. 4 .
- the remaining longer part of the mouthpiece 8 with a spring 17 and slider 20 is located inside the opening in the end slat 2.1, which is not separately shown.
- the anti-burglary mechanism 6 basically comprises two parts, namely the guiding element 7 and the mouthpiece 8, which applies also for the anti-burglary mechanism 6.1, which is not separately shown.
- the guiding element 7 of the anti-burglary mechanism 6 is inserted into the guide channel 22 of the side guide 5a so that it lies in the direction of its longitudinal axis and so that it, with the supporting plate 12, rests on the back wall of the guide channel 22, onto which it is attached with a screw joint or some other suitable fastening via mounting hole 13. Therefore, the guiding element 7 is positioned in the guide channel 22 of the side guide 5a so that its supporting plate 12 is located opposite to the longitudinal cut-out 23, whereas its guide plate 9 is located at the longitudinal cut-out 23 and in the same plane with slats 2 and with the end slat 2.1, respectively.
- the guiding element 7 of the anti-burglary mechanism 6.1 which is located in the guide channel 22 with the longitudinal cut-out 23 of the side guide 5b, but in the mirrored position, which is not separately shown.
- the guiding element 7 is formed of a guide plate 9, and perpendicular thereto, a supporting plate 12 with the mounting hole 13.
- a closed guide channel 9a and an open guide channel 9b, which are interconnected, are formed into the surface of the guide plate 9 and along it, and an elongated protrusion 10 with a conical outgrowth 16, a slender extension 24 and a depression 25 are located between them.
- the closed guide channel 9a in the area of the extension 24 passes over through a curve at the protrusion 11 to the linear open guide channel 9b, which passes at the free linear edge of the guide plate 9.
- the guide plate 9 and the supporting plate 12 form a single body of the guiding element 7.
- the closed guide channel 9a borders the supporting plate 12 on one side and the protrusion 10 and its slender extension 24 on the opposite side.
- the closed guide channel 9a is of a funnel shaped construction, which is then transformed into a winding section with three curves, the last curve of which goes round the extension 24 at the protrusion 11 and continues then into the open guide channel 9b.
- the middle winding section of the closed guide channel 9a is formed with curves in a mirrored form of the block letter S.
- the protrusion 10 passes over to a slender conical and flexible outgrowth 16 extending outside and slightly above the upper edge of the guide plate 9, whereas in the lower, i.e. opposite part, it passes over to a slender, yet rigid extension 24, which is located in the front surface of the guide plate 9.
- the conical outgrowth 16 tilts slightly from the longitudinal central axis of the guide plate 9 in the direction towards the open guide channel 9b so that it corresponds with the tilt at the funnel-shaped entry into the closed guide channel 9a.
- the slender extension 24 represents the end lower part of the protrusion 10, which is in its central part bent in a direction towards the supporting plate 12 so that its legs limits an inner obtuse angle.
- the protrusion 10 on the guide plate 9 is surrounded from one and from the other side by rigid sliding surfaces, namely the sliding surfaces 15a and 15b located at the closed guide channel 9a, whereas the sliding surfaces 15c, 15d and 15e are located at the open guide channel 9b.
- the sliding surface 15a extends from the top of the conical outgrowth 16 to the second blocking spot 14b, whereas the sliding surface 15b stretches from the blocking spot 14b to the end of the slender extension 24.
- the sliding surface 15b passes into the sliding surface 15c, which extends into the sliding surface 15d and the sliding surface 15d further into the sliding surface 15e, which ends at the top of the conical outgrowth 16 respectively passes through it into the sliding surface 15a in the opposite side.
- the closed guide channel 9a, the open guide channel 9b and the protrusion 10, with the exception of its outgrowth 16, and the protrusion 11 are of rigid construction.
- Fig. 6 shows a mouthpiece 8, which has, at one end, a head with a sliding ridge 22 and an elongated cut-out 21 open at one side, in the elongated cut-out 21, a guide pin 18 is movably located, which is connected via spring 17 with a slider 20 that slightly protrudes from the housing of the mouthpiece 8.
- the spring 17 regulates the movement of the guide pin 18 through the closed guide channel 9a and the open guide channel 9b on the guide plate 9 as well as the movement of the slider 20 through the mouthpiece 8.
- one anti-burglary mechanism 6 belongs to the side guide 5a
- the other anti-burglary mechanism 6.1 belongs to the side guide 5b.
- the guiding elements 7 of the anti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1 are located and attached inside the guide channel 22 of the side guides 5a and 5b, whereas the mouthpieces 8 are inserted each with one part into one end of the end slat 2.1, whereas, with the other part, they are located inside the corresponding guide channel 22.
- both anti-burglary mechanisms 6, 6.1 in the side guides 5a and 5b are identical, only the anti-burglary mechanism 6 that belongs to the side guide 5a will be used for the description of the method of their operation. The identical description applies also for the anti-burglary mechanism 6.1 that belongs to the side guide 5b.
- the mouthpiece 8 with the guide pin 18 travels along the guide channel 22 with the longitudinal cut-out 23 in the corresponding side guide 5a.
- a guided movement of the guide pin 18 starts when it reaches the conical outgrowth 16 on the protrusion 10 of the guiding element 7 and when the guide pin 18 leans on the sliding surface 15a of the protrusion 10.
- the guide pin 18 slides along the sliding surface 15a to the closed guide channel 9a and along it to its first curve, which represents the first blocking spot 14a. The described is shown in Fig 2 , Fig. 5 and Fig. 7 .
- the end slat 2.1 with slats 2 can be pulled up until the guide pin 18 of the mouthpiece 8 reaches the second blocking spot 14b, where the end slat 2.1 is stopped again. The remaining slats 2.1 are still pulled up until they are fully stretched. When the slats 2 are fully stretched, their pulling up stops. By means of the end slat 2.1, the slats 2 are, in this position, stretched in the area between the second blocking spot 14b and the shaft of the winding mechanism 3, the electric motor of which prevents the slats 2 from being pulled down.
- the last phase in the operation of the anti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1 is the release of the end slat 2.1 and the pulling up of the slats 2 in the direction of the winding mechanism 3.
- the guide pin 18 of the mouthpiece 8 travels along the open guide channel 9b of the guiding element 7, until the guide pin 18 leaves its conical growth 16 and then forward to the winding mechanism 3.
- the guide pin 18 moves forward and backward along the elongated cut-out 21 at the front end of the mouthpiece 8.
- the sliding ridge 19 on the head of the mouthpiece 8 enables the mouthpiece 8 to slide more smoothly along the wall of the guide channel 22 in the side guides 5a and 5b.

Description
Thereby, a partially open roller shutter will be secured also in the position of ventilation when the slats are spaced apart. Furthermore, the construction of said anti-burglary mechanism enables its installation into all known types of side guides of the roller shutters without their disassembly, and also enables simple replacement of mechanisms of external concealed roller shutters.
- The construction of the anti-burglary mechanism will be simple to manufacture, install and use. In addition, in window, door or insect guides, it will be easy to replace the existing blocking mechanism with the anti-burglary mechanism according to the present invention.
- According to
patent document EP 3 246 507A1 , there is known a roller shutter installation comprising a device for locking the roller shutter, which consists of a frame and a mouthpiece with a cursor. The frame is attached, with its resting surface, within the roller shutter side guide, whereby perpendicularly to the resting surface, three elastic curved or serpentine tabs are formed. The upper tab acts as a cursor router in the direction of the intermediate elastic tab below it, while the lower two elastic tabs have the function of blocking, in the sense of blocking the partially open roller shutter in two blocking spots that are made with a distance between them. The weakness and deficiency of this known solution is in the fact that the mechanism can be adjusted in two blocking spots only, which determine the height of the partial opening between the end slat and the lower part of the window or door. Furthermore, weakness and deficiency of this known mechanism is in the fact that it cannot be replaced in case of an external concealed roller shutter as this is prevented by the lower bearer with the supporting element on the frame. Because of these two elements, it is necessary to unscrew and remove the side guides when disassembling the blocking mechanism. Further weakness and deficiency of this blocking mechanism is in the fact that this mechanism can be built in one type of side guides only, their construction depends on the previously mentioned lower bearer with the supporting element on the frame. In other known types of roller shutter side guides, this mechanism cannot be built in, and in such a case the mechanism must be reconstructed to fit a particular guide. - Based on the previously described known solution of the blocking mechanism, i.e. of the system of blocking a roller shutter, the problem of simple and effective anti-burglary mechanism construction without elastic deformable parts on the frame for guiding the movement of the cursor remains unsolved, the production thereof is demanding and their useful life is relatively short as there is a possibility of mechanical damage or of aging of the plastic material they are made of. Furthermore, the problem of forming the blocking or anti-burglary mechanism is still not solved that will enable more than two blocking spots or more than two positions of a closed or partially open roller shutter where a larger height of partial opening during ventilation appears, which increases the risk of unwanted entry of a person into the living space. Moreover, the problem of disassembling and changing of blocking mechanisms in existing roller shutters is still not solved as roller shutter side guides must be dismantled or in some cases changed first. It also remains an unsolved problem of an execution of a blocking mechanism, which will be able to be installed in all types of side guides, and not only in certain types, i.e. side guides adapted to it.
- The invention is defined by an anti-burglary mechanism according to
claim 1 and by a method of its operation according toclaim 7, that will enable safe setting of the distance between the end slat and the lower part of the door, window or insect screen in three blocking spots. At the same time, its construction will enable an installation of the anti-burglary mechanism in all types of roller shutter side guides, but will also enable its installation and disassembly without the need for prior disassembly of the side guides. The objective of the development was to develop a relatively simple and standard anti-burglary mechanism construction with a blocking function that will ensure high degree of safety when the roller shutter is partially open. At the same time the invention discloses a method of anti-burglary mechanism operation of such an innovative structure. Thereby the original guiding element construction along with the mouthpiece discloses the option of installing or replacing the anti-burglary mechanism without previous disassembling of side guides, as well as its characteristic standard assembly, which can be simply installed into all known types of side guides for guiding roller shutter slats.
- The shutter is mounted on the outside of windows or doors as a blind, and contains an assembly of winding mechanism with interconnected lamellae that are slidably inserted into the side guides. The shutter can also be mounted above the window or above the door, as an upright or overhead shutter. The following description will introduce the classic or standard shutters.
- A roller shutter is mounted outside of windows or doors, and includes an assembly of a winding mechanism with slats that are movably interconnected and that are inserted into two side guides with their ends so that they can slide. The roller shutter can also be mounted above the window or door as above-window or above-door roller shutter. The description below refers to a classical or standard roller shutter.
- The anti-burglary mechanism with the blocking function according to the present invention essentially comprises a guiding element and a mouthpiece. The guiding element is formed by a guide plate with guide channels and a slender outgrowth, and a supporting plate that is perpendicular to it and that has a mounting hole to be mounted on the wall of the guide channel of a side guide. The mouthpiece is a flat housing into which a spring with a slider on one side and a guide pin on the other side of it are integrated, whereby the latter can move linearly within the open elongated cut-out. At the elongated cut-out, a protruding sliding plug is carried out.
- It applies that one guiding element with a guide plate is built in the corresponding roller shutter side guide and that one mouthpiece is inserted into each corresponding end of the hollow end slat. In this way, in the final phase, an individual roller shutter has two such mechanisms, the guiding elements of which are placed and fixed at the same height, i.e. at the same distance from the lower part of both guides and at the same distance from the lower part of the window or door.
- Each guiding element is inserted into the corresponding guide channel of the side guide in the direction of its longitudinal axis so that their longitudinal axes run parallel. The guiding element is attached to the side guide, i.e. to the back wall of its guide channel in a fixed way via mounting hole in the supporting plate so that the guide plate perpendicular to it and with guide channels is positioned on the internal side plane of the guide channel. Thereby the guide plate of the guiding element is in the same plane as the larger surface of the slat roller shutter, whereas the supporting plate is perpendicular to the same larger plane of the roller shutter. The above applies for the left and for the right installation of the guiding element into the corresponding side guide of the roller shutter slats.
- The mouthpiece is, at one end where a spring with a slider is located, tightly inserted into the interior of a hollow end slat so that the guide pin in the elongated cut-out is outside said end slat. This applies to both the left and right mounting place of the mouth piece in the end slat.
- When manufacturing a roller shutter with the anti-burglary mechanism according to this invention, before assembling it, it is required to insert the corresponding guiding elements into the guide channel of side guides and to attach them in the previously described position in a fixed way. The mouthpiece is inserted into the end slat of the slat set, into both ends, in the previously described position.
- With the free ends of both mouthpieces, the end slat is inserted into the guide channels of both side guides so that it, together with them, slides freely along the longitudinal cut-out of both guide channels. The slat set is then positioned within the entire length of the side guides, and it is with the initial slat attached to an unshown shaft of the winding mechanism.
- The anti-burglary mechanism with the blocking function for roller shutters according to the invention operates in such a way that the guide pin that slides within and lengthwise of the elongated cut-out on the front part of the mouthpiece forward and backward moves freely along the guide channel of the corresponding side guide of the roller shutter until it reaches the closed guide channel on the guiding element, and it travels further along it in a guided way. When the end slat with the mouthpiece reaches the first blocking spot, the movement of the guide pin of the mouthpiece and thereby the movement of the end slat is stopped and the individual slats above it begin to load on it one after another sequentially, causing the shutter to close and darken the living space.
- If it is not desired that the room is darkened as described above, the slats, when the end slat with the guide pin reaches the first blocking spot, are raised so that the guide pin with the end slat reaches the second blocking spot. This is the main phase in the operation of the roller shutter with the anti-burglary mechanism, where the slats movably attached to each other are in the stretched position with visible perforated passes that enable the ventilation of the living space. The ventilation runs through the open perforations of the slats, at the same time pulling up or down of roller shutters is disabled in this position. The described second blocking spot also enables a partial opening between the end slat and the lower part of the window or door, the height of which does not make it possible to unwanted persons to enter into the living space. In this way, in addition to the ventilation function, the safety anti-burglary function of the roller shutter is ensured.
- In the next phase, the roller shutter slats are released, which means that the mouthpiece with the guide pin and the end slat is moved from the second blocking spot to the third blocking spot. This movement causes that all the slats start moving down until they are placed tightly to each other. Thereby the room is made completely dark and the ventilation phase is over. The electric motor pushes the slats with the end slat towards the lower part of the guiding element by as much to make it impossible to pull them up, which represents an anti-burglary function of the roller shutter also in this case.
- The last phase in the operation of the anti-burglary mechanism comprises the release of slats and afterwards their raising in the direction of the winding mechanism. During raising of slats, the guide pin of the mouthpiece travels along the open guide channel of the guiding element until it leaves its conical outgrowth and then further towards the winding mechanism.
- In the following, the roller shutter anti-burglary mechanism and the method of its operation according to the present invention are more precisely described, on the basis of a feasibility example of a window roller shutter and figures, which show as follows:

Fig. 1 shows that aroller shutter 1 comprisesslats 2, which slide with their ends insideguide channels mechanism 3, whereas the other side is free. When pulling upslats 2, they wind on the axis of the windingmechanism 3 and when pulling them down, they unwind from the axis. Thereby also the end slat 2.1 is pulled up or down, the end slat 2.1, which can rest on thewindow sill 4 and thus veils it, or it can also be fully or partially open and thus away from thewindow sill 4 by a certain distance H. - A component part of the
roller shutter 1 is also a pair ofanti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1 according to the invention, which are fixed via guidingelement 7 to theside guide elements 7 are away from thewindow sill 4 or the lower part of the side guides 5a and 5b by the same distance. Themouthpieces 8 of themechanisms 6, 6.1 are in a tight fit inserted into the corresponding ends of the end slat 2.1, which together with theother slats 2 is vertically movable inside the side guides 5a and 5b of theroller shutter 1. One previously mentionedmouthpiece 8 is inserted into both side openings of the end slat 2.1, so that its head with an elongated cut-out 21 and aguide pin 18, which can be moved lengthwise inside it, and a slidingridge 19 protrudes out of it. The described is shown inFig. 4 . The remaining longer part of themouthpiece 8 with aspring 17 andslider 20 is located inside the opening in the end slat 2.1, which is not separately shown. - In
Fig. 2 andFig. 3 it is shown that theanti-burglary mechanism 6 basically comprises two parts, namely the guidingelement 7 and themouthpiece 8, which applies also for the anti-burglary mechanism 6.1, which is not separately shown. - It is evident from
Fig. 2 and partially also fromFig. 3 that the guidingelement 7 of theanti-burglary mechanism 6 is inserted into theguide channel 22 of theside guide 5a so that it lies in the direction of its longitudinal axis and so that it, with the supportingplate 12, rests on the back wall of theguide channel 22, onto which it is attached with a screw joint or some other suitable fastening via mountinghole 13. Therefore, the guidingelement 7 is positioned in theguide channel 22 of theside guide 5a so that its supportingplate 12 is located opposite to the longitudinal cut-out 23, whereas itsguide plate 9 is located at the longitudinal cut-out 23 and in the same plane withslats 2 and with the end slat 2.1, respectively. This applies also for the guidingelement 7 of the anti-burglary mechanism 6.1, which is located in theguide channel 22 with the longitudinal cut-out 23 of theside guide 5b, but in the mirrored position, which is not separately shown. - As shown in
Fig. 5 , the guidingelement 7 is formed of aguide plate 9, and perpendicular thereto, a supportingplate 12 with the mountinghole 13. Aclosed guide channel 9a and anopen guide channel 9b, which are interconnected, are formed into the surface of theguide plate 9 and along it, and anelongated protrusion 10 with aconical outgrowth 16, aslender extension 24 and adepression 25 are located between them. Theclosed guide channel 9a in the area of theextension 24 passes over through a curve at theprotrusion 11 to the linearopen guide channel 9b, which passes at the free linear edge of theguide plate 9. Theguide plate 9 and the supportingplate 12 form a single body of the guidingelement 7. - The
closed guide channel 9a borders the supportingplate 12 on one side and theprotrusion 10 and itsslender extension 24 on the opposite side. In the upper part, theclosed guide channel 9a is of a funnel shaped construction, which is then transformed into a winding section with three curves, the last curve of which goes round theextension 24 at theprotrusion 11 and continues then into theopen guide channel 9b. The middle winding section of theclosed guide channel 9a is formed with curves in a mirrored form of the block letter S. - In the upper part, the
protrusion 10 passes over to a slender conical andflexible outgrowth 16 extending outside and slightly above the upper edge of theguide plate 9, whereas in the lower, i.e. opposite part, it passes over to a slender, yetrigid extension 24, which is located in the front surface of theguide plate 9. Theconical outgrowth 16 tilts slightly from the longitudinal central axis of theguide plate 9 in the direction towards theopen guide channel 9b so that it corresponds with the tilt at the funnel-shaped entry into theclosed guide channel 9a. As previously described, theslender extension 24 represents the end lower part of theprotrusion 10, which is in its central part bent in a direction towards the supportingplate 12 so that its legs limits an inner obtuse angle. - The
protrusion 10 on theguide plate 9 is surrounded from one and from the other side by rigid sliding surfaces, namely the slidingsurfaces closed guide channel 9a, whereas the slidingsurfaces open guide channel 9b. The slidingsurface 15a extends from the top of theconical outgrowth 16 to thesecond blocking spot 14b, whereas the slidingsurface 15b stretches from the blockingspot 14b to the end of theslender extension 24. On the other side of theextension 24, the slidingsurface 15b passes into the slidingsurface 15c, which extends into the slidingsurface 15d and the slidingsurface 15d further into the slidingsurface 15e, which ends at the top of theconical outgrowth 16 respectively passes through it into the slidingsurface 15a in the opposite side. It applies that theclosed guide channel 9a, theopen guide channel 9b and theprotrusion 10, with the exception of itsoutgrowth 16, and theprotrusion 11 are of rigid construction. - It is also evident from
Fig. 5 that the first curve of the winding section of theclosed guide channel 9a represents thefirst blocking spot 14a, whereas the second curve above it represents thesecond blocking spot 14b and the third curve below it represents thethird blocking spot 14c. -
Fig. 6 shows amouthpiece 8, which has, at one end, a head with a slidingridge 22 and an elongated cut-out 21 open at one side, in the elongated cut-out 21, aguide pin 18 is movably located, which is connected viaspring 17 with aslider 20 that slightly protrudes from the housing of themouthpiece 8. Thespring 17 regulates the movement of theguide pin 18 through theclosed guide channel 9a and theopen guide channel 9b on theguide plate 9 as well as the movement of theslider 20 through themouthpiece 8. - It applies that it is possible to build the
anti-burglary mechanism 6 or 6.1 into the side guides 5a, 5b of theroller shutter 1 of windows or doors and also into the insect screens on them. - Below the method of operation of the anti-burglary mechanism of the
roller shutter 1 according to the invention is described. As previously described, oneanti-burglary mechanism 6 belongs to theside guide 5a, whereas the other anti-burglary mechanism 6.1 belongs to theside guide 5b. The guidingelements 7 of theanti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1 are located and attached inside theguide channel 22 of the side guides 5a and 5b, whereas themouthpieces 8 are inserted each with one part into one end of the end slat 2.1, whereas, with the other part, they are located inside thecorresponding guide channel 22. - As the operation of both
anti-burglary mechanisms 6, 6.1 in the side guides 5a and 5b is identical, only theanti-burglary mechanism 6 that belongs to theside guide 5a will be used for the description of the method of their operation. The identical description applies also for the anti-burglary mechanism 6.1 that belongs to theside guide 5b. - When pulling down the
slats 2 of theroller shutter 1 or the end slat 2.1, themouthpiece 8 with theguide pin 18 travels along theguide channel 22 with the longitudinal cut-out 23 in thecorresponding side guide 5a. A guided movement of theguide pin 18 starts when it reaches theconical outgrowth 16 on theprotrusion 10 of the guidingelement 7 and when theguide pin 18 leans on the slidingsurface 15a of theprotrusion 10. Theguide pin 18 slides along the slidingsurface 15a to theclosed guide channel 9a and along it to its first curve, which represents thefirst blocking spot 14a. The described is shown inFig 2 ,Fig. 5 andFig. 7 . - When pulling down
slats 2 along the side guides 5a, 5b, the end slat 2.1 with themouthpieces 8 reaches thefirst blocking spot 14a on the guidingelement 7, theguide pin 18 of themouthpiece 8 stops at this spot, whereby the movement of the end slat 2.1 also stops. Consequently, the remainingslats 2 above the end slat 2.1 begin to load on each other, causing partial closure and thus diming the space with theroller shutter 1. - If the previously mentioned darkening with the
roller shutter 1 is not desired, the end slat 2.1 withslats 2 can be pulled up until theguide pin 18 of themouthpiece 8 reaches thesecond blocking spot 14b, where the end slat 2.1 is stopped again. The remaining slats 2.1 are still pulled up until they are fully stretched. When theslats 2 are fully stretched, their pulling up stops. By means of the end slat 2.1, theslats 2 are, in this position, stretched in the area between thesecond blocking spot 14b and the shaft of the windingmechanism 3, the electric motor of which prevents theslats 2 from being pulled down. This represents the main phase in the operation of theroller shutter 1 with theanti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1, wherein the mutually movablyconnected slats 2 are in a stretched position with visible perforated passes that enable ventilation of the living spaces. Ventilation is carried out through the open perforations ofslats 2, at the same time, in this position, it is possible to pull them up or down. The described position of theguide pin 18 of themouthpiece 8 in the area of thesecond blocking spot 14b on theguide plate 9 of the guidingelement 7 results in partial opening, i.e. distance H between the end slat 2.1 and the window sill ordoor threshold 4. Thereby it is of importance that the distance H is such that it does not enable the entry of an undesired person into the living space. In this way, in addition to ventilation, the safety anti-burglary function of theroller shutter 1 is ensured. - The previously described phase is followed by the release of the
slats 2 of theroller shutter 1, whereby the guide pins 18 of themouthpieces 8 along with the end slat 2.1 move from thesecond blocking spot 14b to thethird blocking spot 14c. This movement causes that theslats 2 start to lower one after another and they lower until they are completely tight to each other. Thereby theroller shutter 1 is closed and the living space is made dark. At the same time the phase of further ventilation is made impossible. Thereby the electric motor pushes theslats 2 towards the lower part of theclosed guide channel 9a of the guidingelement 7 and as a result they can no longer be pulled up, which ensures anti-burglary function of theroller shutter 1 also in such a case. - The last phase in the operation of the
anti-burglary mechanisms 6 and 6.1 is the release of the end slat 2.1 and the pulling up of theslats 2 in the direction of the windingmechanism 3. During the pulling up of the end slat 2.1 with the remainingslats 2, theguide pin 18 of themouthpiece 8 travels along theopen guide channel 9b of the guidingelement 7, until theguide pin 18 leaves itsconical growth 16 and then forward to the windingmechanism 3. - During the entire previously described path of sliding of the
guide pin 18 along theguide channels element 7, theguide pin 18 moves forward and backward along the elongated cut-out 21 at the front end of themouthpiece 8. The slidingridge 19 on the head of themouthpiece 8 enables themouthpiece 8 to slide more smoothly along the wall of theguide channel 22 in the side guides 5a and 5b.
