Definitions

  • the present invention regards a fabric roller blind according to the preamble of the independent claim number 1.
  • the present fabric roller blind is intended to be advantageously employed for adjustably closing provided openings of building walls, in particular for windows, for doors, per French windows and similar windows/doors/shutters.
  • the blind, object of the present invention is therefore inserted in the industrial field of the production of windows/doors/shutters, i.e. also in the field of the production of fabrics for sun protection, in the field of mosquito netting or of similar applications.
  • Blinds are known on the market for closing openings of windows/doors/shutters (such as windows, doors or French windows) provided with a rolling-shutter box, which is fixed to a building wall or to an upright that is lateral with respect to the opening to be closed and at its interior houses a roller on which a flexible cover fabric is susceptible of being wound and unwound.
  • windows/doors/shutters such as windows, doors or French windows
  • a rolling-shutter box which is fixed to a building wall or to an upright that is lateral with respect to the opening to be closed and at its interior houses a roller on which a flexible cover fabric is susceptible of being wound and unwound.
  • the fabric usually has rectangular shape and is provided with a first lateral edge fixed to the roller and with a second lateral edge opposite the first lateral edge and fixed to a handle bar susceptible of being gripped by a user and aimed to stretch the fabric itself during a movement thereof along a horizontal direction.
  • the blind comprises two guides arranged horizontally along the corresponding upper and lower walls which define the opening and to which the handle bar is slidably constrained.
  • the handle bar comprises an aluminum section closed at the upper and lower ends by two terminations slidably coupled to the respective horizontal guides.
  • each of the upper and lower horizontal guides is generally obtained by means of an aluminum section fixed to the upper or lower wall which defines the opening.
  • Each aluminum section of the two guides is provided with a longitudinal slit which is extended along the extension of the same section and which slidably houses at its interior the corresponding upper or lower terminal of the handle bar.
  • the slits of the two guides face each other and delimit the two sides of the opening to be closed with the windable fabric.
  • the handle bar is movable by a user between an open position, in which it is side-by-side the rolling-shutter box with the fabric completely wound around the roller, so as to free the opening to be screened, and a closed position in which the handle bar is side-by-side the opposite lateral wall, with the fabric substantially completely unwound from the roller and placed to close the opening.
  • the user grips the handle bar and drives it along the horizontal guides up to the desired position, e.g. up to the closed position, in which the fabric is placed to completely cover the opening.
  • the upper and lower terminals of the handle bar respectively slide along the upper and lower guides.
  • a first drawback of the blinds of known type lies in the fact that for the movement of the handle bar between the open position and the closed position, the handle bar may be gripped not exactly at the midpoint of its height but in a non-centered position, e.g. in proximity to one of the ends thereof. Such circumstance implies that the handle bar is more greatly moved along the guide closest to where the handle bar has been gripped by the user and to a lesser extent along the guide further away from where the handle bar has been gripped by the user.
  • fabric roller blinds also of known type, have been developed which are provided with means for aligning the terminals of the handle bar, which maintain the terminals thereof vertically aligned during the movement of the same handle bar between the open and closed positions.
  • the fabric roller is constituted by an anti-mosquito net, with substantially rectangular shape, which is fixed at a lateral end thereof to the take-up roller which is housed within the vertical rolling-shutter box and at the other end is fixed to the handle bar, which is susceptible of being gripped by a user in order to move the blind between the open and closed positions.
  • the fabric roller blind of known type described in this patent EP 2530236 comprises a guide chain composed of a plurality of elements pivoted to each other in succession and capable of rotating with respect to each other only in one rotation sense, so as to attain - when extended aligned in succession - a member that is rigid in the opposite rotation direction, susceptible of attaining a guide for the fabric.
  • Such elements are housed within a corresponding vertical seat made within the handle bar when the blind is in open position.
  • the chain is constrained at one end thereof to the rolling-shutter box in which the take-up roller is housed, while the other end is slidably inserted within the vertical seat of the handle bar.
  • the guide chain When the blind is moved from the open position to the closed position, the guide chain is driven outside the vertical seat of the handle bar, being set on the lower wall (usually the floor or a windowsill) which delimits the opening to be screened, thus acting as lower guide for the fabric.
  • the guide chain with the blind in closed position, therefore defines a horizontal rectilinear guide for the fabric, which allows retaining it in the spread-out position to close the opening to be screened.
  • Such fabric roller blind of known type also comprises, as stated, means for aligning the terminals of the handle bar in order to remedy their vertical non-alignment, or a different sliding in the horizontal direction of the two terminals, even if the handle bar is gripped and driven in proximity to one of the ends thereof.
  • the alignment means comprise an upper flexible element and an intermediate flexible element.
  • the upper flexible element consists of a flexible metal strap with curved section placed in proximity to upper rectilinear guide, fixed on one side to the vertical upright and fixed on the other side to the intermediate flexible element.
  • the intermediate flexible element consists of a flexible metal strap, which is fixed on one side to the guide chain and on the other side is fixed to the upper flexible element by means of a movable carriage.
  • the upper flexible element and the intermediate flexible element are both fixed to the movable carriage and the latter is slidably inserted within a vertical rail made within the handle bar, substantially parallel to the vertical seat for the elements of the guide chain.
  • the upper flexible element and the intermediate flexible element are both susceptible of rotating around a transmission pulley pivoted within the handle bar around a horizontal rotation axis that is transverse to the lying plane of the fabric, with the handle bar in closed position.
  • the movable carriage slides along the vertical rail made within the handle bar, allowing the handle bar itself to be moved between the open position and the closed position.
  • Such metal strap along with the guide chain when extended during the opening of the handle bar, defines a rigid member in the sense that it does not allow the upper terminal to return backward, i.e. to remain back with respect to the lower terminal.
  • the main drawback lies in the fact that the means for aligning the blind of the above-described type are complex to make and install and consequently involve high production and installation costs.
  • a further drawback lies in the fact that the vertical rail in which the movable carriage - on which the upper and intermediate flexible elements are fixed - is slidably inserted considerably increases the total size of the handle bar, which is bulky and aesthetically not particularly agreeable.
  • a further drawback of the fabric roller blind of known type lies in the fact that the movable carriage moved within the vertical rail made within the handle bar is susceptible of being blocked and/or jammed within the vertical rail itself, due to possible non-alignments or an erroneous movement of the handle bar by the user.
  • the problem underlying the present invention is to provide a fabric roller blind, which is structurally simple and inexpensive to make and install and which therefore has limited production and installation costs.
  • a further object of the present invention is to provide a fabric roller blind which is provided with a handle bar provided with a limited bulk, which is also aesthetically pleasing the eyes of the user.
  • a further object of the present invention is to provide a fabric roller blind which is entirely reliable in operation and does not involve risks of blocking and/or jamming.
  • reference number 1 overall indicates the fabric roller blind, object of the present invention.
  • the blind 1 is operatively employable for adjustably closing an opening A of a window/door/shutter, e.g. a window, a door or a French door, made in a load-bearing structure such as the building wall of a building.
  • a window/door/shutter e.g. a window, a door or a French door

  • the support frame 2 can be fixed to the load-bearing structure at the opening by embedding it within the masonry or wooden section, or fixed with front mounting on the internal or external face of the building wall in which the opening is made.
  • the lateral upright 3 of the support frame 2 comprises a rolling-shutter box 39 intended to be laterally positioned with respect to the opening A to be screened.

  • a second lateral upright 41 is advantageously provided, arranged on a lateral wall which defines the opening A, in a position facing the lateral upright 21 with the rolling-shutter box 3 associated therewith.
  • the handle bar 6 is mechanically associated with such second lateral upright 41 when it reaches closed position.

Description

    Field of application
  • The present invention regards a fabric roller blind according to the preamble of the independent claim number 1.
  • The present fabric roller blind is intended to be advantageously employed for adjustably closing provided openings of building walls, in particular for windows, for doors, per French windows and similar windows/doors/shutters.
  • The blind, object of the present invention, is therefore inserted in the industrial field of the production of windows/doors/shutters, i.e. also in the field of the production of fabrics for sun protection, in the field of mosquito netting or of similar applications.
  • State of the art
  • Blinds are known on the market for closing openings of windows/doors/shutters (such as windows, doors or French windows) provided with a rolling-shutter box, which is fixed to a building wall or to an upright that is lateral with respect to the opening to be closed and at its interior houses a roller on which a flexible cover fabric is susceptible of being wound and unwound.
  • In addition, the blind comprises two guides arranged horizontally along the corresponding upper and lower walls which define the opening and to which the handle bar is slidably constrained.
  • In particular, the handle bar comprises an aluminum section closed at the upper and lower ends by two terminations slidably coupled to the respective horizontal guides.
  • Normally, each of the upper and lower horizontal guides is generally obtained by means of an aluminum section fixed to the upper or lower wall which defines the opening. Each aluminum section of the two guides is provided with a longitudinal slit which is extended along the extension of the same section and which slidably houses at its interior the corresponding upper or lower terminal of the handle bar. The slits of the two guides face each other and delimit the two sides of the opening to be closed with the windable fabric.
  • In operation, starting from the open position, the user grips the handle bar and drives it along the horizontal guides up to the desired position, e.g. up to the closed position, in which the fabric is placed to completely cover the opening.
  • During this movement, the upper and lower terminals of the handle bar respectively slide along the upper and lower guides.
  • The blinds of known type briefly described up to now have in practice proven that they do not lack drawbacks.
  • This determines a non-alignment between the two ends of the handle bar, i.e. in other words there will be one end of the handle bar more advanced in the direction of its movement and one end more retreated in the direction of its movement. Such non-alignment of one end of the handle bar with respect to the other brings the fabric roller to be stretched in a non-uniform manner, forming bends that can in the long term also lead to the deterioration and hence also to the breakage of the fabric itself.
  • In addition, such non-alignment leads to an undesired deterioration of the terminals inserted in the horizontal guides due to the stresses to which they are continuously subjected. In addition, following such non-alignment, it can happen that the same terminals exit outward from the horizontal guides, requiring the intervention by a specialized technician.
  • In order to at least partially overcome such drawbacks of the abovementioned prior art, fabric roller blinds, also of known type, have been developed which are provided with means for aligning the terminals of the handle bar, which maintain the terminals thereof vertically aligned during the movement of the same handle bar between the open and closed positions.
  • Known from the patent EP 2530236 is an example of a fabric roller blind, which is provided with the main members and components indicated above and with alignment means housed in the handle bar. More in detail, the fabric roller is constituted by an anti-mosquito net, with substantially rectangular shape, which is fixed at a lateral end thereof to the take-up roller which is housed within the vertical rolling-shutter box and at the other end is fixed to the handle bar, which is susceptible of being gripped by a user in order to move the blind between the open and closed positions.
Such elements are housed within a corresponding vertical seat made within the handle bar when the blind is in open position. The chain is constrained at one end thereof to the rolling-shutter box in which the take-up roller is housed, while the other end is slidably inserted within the vertical seat of the handle bar.
  • When the blind is moved from the open position to the closed position, the guide chain is driven outside the vertical seat of the handle bar, being set on the lower wall (usually the floor or a windowsill) which delimits the opening to be screened, thus acting as lower guide for the fabric.
  • The guide chain, with the blind in closed position, therefore defines a horizontal rectilinear guide for the fabric, which allows retaining it in the spread-out position to close the opening to be screened.
  • In accordance with such blind of known type, the alignment means comprise an upper flexible element and an intermediate flexible element.
  • The upper flexible element consists of a flexible metal strap with curved section placed in proximity to upper rectilinear guide, fixed on one side to the vertical upright and fixed on the other side to the intermediate flexible element.
  • More in detail, the intermediate flexible element consists of a flexible metal strap, which is fixed on one side to the guide chain and on the other side is fixed to the upper flexible element by means of a movable carriage.
Upon rotating the transmission pulley, the movable carriage slides along the vertical rail made within the handle bar, allowing the handle bar itself to be moved between the open position and the closed position.
  • Such metal strap along with the guide chain, when extended during the opening of the handle bar, defines a rigid member in the sense that it does not allow the upper terminal to return backward, i.e. to remain back with respect to the lower terminal.
  • Also the blind of known type described in the document EP 2530236 and briefly described up to now has in practice shown that it does not lack drawbacks.
  • Presentation of the invention
  • In this situation, the problem underlying the present invention is to provide a fabric roller blind, which is structurally simple and inexpensive to make and install and which therefore has limited production and installation costs.
These objects are all attained by the fabric roller blind, object of the present invention.

  • The guide chain 7 is extended preferably between a seventh end fixed to the lateral upright 3 of the support frame 2 at the bottom wall which delimits the opening A and an eighth end 44 slidably inserted within the vertical seat made in the handle bar 6.
  • In accordance with the preferred embodiment illustrated in the enclosed figures, the support frame 2 of the blind 1, object of the present invention, comprises a guide edge 45 intended to be fixed on the lower wall which defines the opening A and adapted to guide the guide chain 7 while it is set on the lower wall in its movement from the retracted position to the extended position, i.e. during the movement of the handle bar 6 from the open position to the closed position.
  • In operation, so as to screen the opening A with the fabric 5, the user moves the handle bar 6 of the blind 1 in order to bring it from the open position to the closed position. The guide chain 7, which initially is housed within the vertical seat made in the handle bar 6, slides within the latter and is set on the bottom wall which delimits the opening A to be screened, along the guide edge 45 arranged on the bottom wall.
  • In the same manner, in order to free the opening A of the fabric 5, the user moves the handle bar 6 in order to bring it from the closed position to the open position. • In this manner, the pin 26 also acts as a mechanical support for the reel 11, which is maintained in a raised position by the pin 26 itself.
  • In addition, the pin 26 crosses the housing chamber 25 in a substantially central position.
  • Advantageously, the spiral spring 13 of the elastic return means 12 comprises a third flexible belt having a first transverse extension D and wound as a spiral around the pin 26 of the cover casing 27 and is extended between a fifth end 29 mechanically associated with the pin 26 and a sixth end 30 passing through a passage opening 31 made on the cylindrical wall 24 of the reel 11.
  • Advantageously, the sixth end 29 of the spiral spring 13 of the elastic return means 12 is mechanically connected to the second end 15 of the upper flexible belt 9 and to the third end 16 of the intermediate flexible belt 10.
  • In this manner, the spiral spring 13 forces the upper flexible belt 9 and the intermediate flexible belt 10 to be wound around the reel 11 and also forces them to be taut when the handle bar 6 is in closed position and the flexible belts 9, 10 are unwound on the reel 11.
  • In accordance with the preferred embodiment illustrated in the enclosed figures, the intermediate flexible belt 10 is susceptible of sliding within the vertical seat made in the handle bar 6.

  • In operation, the user in order to vary the tensioning of the upper flexible belt, acts on the head accessible from outside of the worn screw 49 of the connection means 35 in order to move the tooth 37 along the linear extension of the worm screw itself.
  • The tooth 37, being mechanically constrained with the third through hole 38 of the upper flexible belt 9, drives the latter along a substantially horizontal direction, varying its tensioning with respect to the reel 11, at which its second end 15 is fixed.
  • In accordance with a further embodiment not illustrated in the enclosed figures, the support frame 2 of the blind 1, object of the present invention, comprises two facing lateral uprights 3 that are intended to be fixed, each to a respective lateral wall of the structure that defines the opening A.
  • In accordance with such embodiment, the blind 1 comprises two take-up rollers 4, each arranged at the corresponding lateral upright 3, at the sides of the opening A, two fabrics 5 and two handle bars 6.

  • In closed position, the two handle bars 6 of the blind 1 face each other in a substantially middle position with respect to the horizontal extension of the opening A, at least partially screening the latter with the two respective fabrics 5.
  • Preferably, so as to completely screen the opening A, the two handle bars 6 in closed position are in contact with each other.
  • In operation, in accordance with this further embodiment, the user grips both handle bars 6 (simultaneously or first one and then the other) in order to move them between the respective open and closed positions.
  • Otherwise, the user can move only one handle bar 6 in order to only screen one portion of the opening A.
  • The finding thus conceived therefore attains the pre-established objects.
  • In particular, the blind, object of the present invention, is structurally simple and inexpensive to make and to install since, during mounting, it is sufficient to connect the second end 15 of the upper flexible belt 9 and the third end 16 of the intermediate flexible belt 10 to the sixth end 10 of the spiral spring 13 of the elastic return means 12.
