Definitions
- the present invention relates to a container for the transport and storage of goods according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention relates to a display container for the presentation of goods.
- WO 2006/067774 A2 discloses a collapsible container in which an end wall is fastened to a respective side wall so that it can be pivoted about a vertical axis, so that they can each be folded together towards the bottom about the horizontal pivot axes of the side walls.
- the side walls also each have an L-shaped side edge, which serves as a stop for an end wall.
- the L-shaped side edges serve as stops for the end wall articulated on the respectively opposite side wall.
- DE 196 01 689 A1 discloses a plastic container with foldable side walls, the short side walls of which have L-shaped side edges, at the free ends of which a hinge is formed for articulated connection to the side edges of a rear wall.
- the object of the present invention is to create a container that is equally suitable for the transport and presentation of goods and that solves the problems described above in connection with the prior art in a simple manner.
- the container according to the invention is suitable for the transport and storage of goods.
- this can be a display container for presenting goods.
- This container according to the invention has a substantially rectangular base, a first side wall section or a first (long) side wall which is hinged to the base and a second side wall section or a second (short) side wall which is not connected to the base the floor, but is articulated to the first side wall section or the first side wall.
- the second side wall section (the second side wall) can be folded into the first side wall section (for pivot the first side wall) sideways (about a vertical axis) and fold the first side wall section (the first side wall) together with the second side wall section (the second side wall) towards the ground and away.
- the second side wall section which has an L-shaped side edge or connecting section and the first side wall section (the first side wall) and the second side wall section (the second side wall) are hinged to one another such that the at least one L- shaped side edge section of at least one of the two side wall sections lies flat against or adjoins the other side wall section at least in the first pivoting position
- the second side wall section On the edge facing the base, the second side wall section has one or more shapes which, in the first pivoting position, interact with one or more complementary shapes formed on a corresponding base edge section of the base, in order to limit the outward pivoting range of the second side wall section.
- the two side wall sections are connected to one another not only by their articulated connection, but also by a contact surface pair that is enlarged by the angled side edge section.
- the surface contact of the angled side edge section of one side wall section on the other side wall section defines a kind of stop and also a predetermined (in particular vertical) alignment of one side wall section with respect to the other side wall section.
- the container despite the lack of a (long) side wall, has sufficient stability of the two (short) side walls via the one (long) side wall. Because of the increased surface contact between the hinged sidewall sections, the pivoting sidewalls are more resistant to bending and/or torsional moments.
- the interaction of the bottom-side shapes enables the second side wall section to be stabilized in the first pivoted position.
- latching lugs or other latching means it can be achieved that the second side wall section does not pivot inward by itself or in the event of minor impacts.
- these shapes prevent the second side wall section from being able to be pivoted outwards in addition to the L-profile in the vertical edge, e.g. B. due to slipping goods during transport.
- the shapes can also be designed in such a way that they allow not only a form fit to the side, but also in the vertical direction.
- the shapes can be T-shaped, which engage in correspondingly undercut recesses of the other container element.
- the base formations are configured to provide a releasable interlock between the second sidewall portion and the base.
- the base can be essentially rectangular
- the first side wall section can be folded about a horizontal or base-parallel folding axis, specifically between a first, essentially vertically aligned, folded position and a second, inwardly folded, essentially horizontal folded position.
- the second side wall section can be pivoted about a vertical or ground-perpendicular pivot axis, specifically between a first pivot position in which the two side wall sections essentially form a right angle to one another and a second pivot position in which the second side wall section is pivoted toward the first side wall section.
- One or both of the angular profiles of the side edge portions of the two side wall portions are preferably also right angles.
- the first side wall section can be part of a side wall, in particular a long side wall or rear wall, or form the entire side wall.
- the second side wall section can be part of a side wall adjoining it, in particular a short side wall, or form the entire side wall.
- the first side wall section and the two second side wall sections can form a circumferential U-shaped side wall of the container.
- the two second side wall sections then form a type of wing walls or doors which can be pivoted inwards.
- the free ends of the two second side walls also still have sufficient stability via the respective angle profile pairs in the corner edges.
- the first side wall section and the second side wall section each have the at least one angled side edge section or connecting section, so that the angled side edge sections lie one inside the other at least in the outwardly pivoted (first) pivoted position in which the container is ready for use embrace each other and form one or more angled contact surface pairs.
- the two side wall sections are connected to one another not only by their articulated connection, but also by a form-fitting contact connection.
- the side edges of the two side wall sections are not arranged in abutting manner, but rather have angle profiles that overlap or encompass one another and lie flat against or into one another. In this way it is achieved that the container creates sufficient stability of the remaining walls despite a missing (long) side wall.
- the corner areas are reinforced and thereby can withstand greater impact loads. Due to the stabilization via the pair of angle profiles, there are also other requirements for the articulated connection, so that it can be designed more simply, since they no longer have to absorb the impact or bending forces acting on the container alone.
- the pivot axis can lie within the container corner defined by the two angled side edge sections or, seen from this, on one of the two side wall sections inwards be staggered. In this way, the necessary degree of freedom for pivoting the (L) angle profiles towards one another is made possible.
- the angled side edge section or sections of the second side wall section can be in surface contact within the angled side edge section or sections of the first side wall section in the first pivoted position.
- these may be arranged alternately inside and outside the angled side edge portions of the first side wall portion.
- the angled side edge sections can have mutually complementary shapes in the area of the contact surfaces, such as projections and recesses or ribs and grooves, which engage in one another at least in the first pivoting position.
- the stability is further increased by the positively interlocking outer and inner contours of the angled side edge sections. In this way it can be ensured that the two side wall sections cannot be moved vertically relative to one another.
- the shapes alone lead to reinforcement of the respective angled edge section, so that these cannot break even under greater loads.
- the angled side edge portions of the second side wall portion may be inside the bottom edge portion and the angled side edge portions of the first side wall portion might be outside the bottom edge portion.
- the side wall sections are trapped to a certain extent by the bottom edge section, so that these z. E.g. during transport, they cannot rattle or hit against each other or twist under a corresponding load when stacked on top of each other.
- the bottom edge section can have one or more recesses, preferably on the outside, for flush accommodation of the angled side edge sections of the first side wall section in the second folded position. In this way, the play of the side wall sections can also be minimized in the folded state. Furthermore, this design measure also affects the overall height of the collapsed container.
- the second side wall section can have, on the other, opposite side edge section, a vertical groove which is open inwards, in particular also upwards, and which serves to accommodate a side wall insert.
- a vertical sliding element e.g. B. close a thin plastic sheet or by a cardboard box or by a retractable sliding grille or the like.
- the side wall insert also prevents the two second side wall sections from being pivoted inwards.
- locking means for releasably locking the side wall insert in one or more predetermined (height) positions can be provided on the groove itself or in the area of the groove.
- the floor may, on the side opposite the side wall section, have a floor edge section with a receptacle for a side wall insert, e.g. B. in the form of a vertically displaceable side wall element, Faltgitters or a traveling set.
- a side wall insert e.g. B. in the form of a vertically displaceable side wall element, Faltgitters or a traveling set.
- the wall thickness of the at least one angled side edge section of the first side wall section and the at least one angled side edge section of the second side wall section can be reduced in such a way that the side edge sections lying flat against each other have a wall thickness which is that of the first or second side wall section at another point is equivalent to.
- the container 1 shows a perspective view of a container 2, which is suitable for transport and storage, but in particular for the presentation of goods.
- the container 2 is preferably made of plastic.
- the container 2 has a substantially rectangular base 4 which is trough-shaped or is recessed in the middle or has slightly raised edges at the sides.
- the container 2 also has a long side wall or rear wall 6 (first side wall section) and two adjacent short side walls 8 and 10 (second side wall sections).
- first side wall section first side wall section
- second side wall sections two adjacent short side walls 8 and 10
- a vertically displaceable folding grid 12 is provided instead of a fixed side wall, which in the 1 is shown completely lowered.
- the position of the container 2 shown can be very easily loaded and unloaded via the front wall side, while the folding grid 12 can be pulled up and thus pulled apart for transport security.
- the container 2 is also very suitable for the presentation of goods.
- the rear wall 6 is hinged to the base 4, while the two side walls 8 and 10 are hinged to the rear wall 6.
- the side walls 8 and 10 as in the 2 shown (about a vertical pivot axis) in each case pivot inwards to finally pivot in the fully inward position (second pivot position) (see 3 ) to be pivoted to the rear wall 6 completely and one on top of the other.
- the rear wall 6 together with the two pivoted side walls 8 and 10 (about a horizontal folding axis) can be folded down towards the ground or inwards.
- the two short side walls 8 and 10 have handle openings 14 in order to be able to lift the container 2.
- the folding grid 12 has two recesses or projections 16 to it from the in the 1 position shown to be able to pull up.
- the side walls 8 and 10 are each connected to the rear wall 6 via a joint so that they can pivot about a vertical axis A by approximately 90°. From the Figs. 1 to 3 is further It can be seen that both the side edge sections 18 of the side walls 8 and 10 facing the rear wall 6 and the side edge sections 20 of the rear wall 6 facing the side walls 8 and 10 are L-shaped or bent over at right angles or have a large number of such L-shaped sections that are vertically spaced from one another who in the in the 1 shown fully pivoted position of the side walls 8 and 10 are flat in each other.
- the L-shaped edge section 20 of the rear wall 6 thus encompasses the respective L-shaped edge section 18 of the side walls 8 and 10.
- the vertical pivot axis A runs through the free end of the L-shaped edge section 18 of the side wall 8 or 10 and through the rear wall 6 in a portion which is slightly offset inwards towards the edge portion 20 of the rear wall 6 or towards the center of the rear wall 6 in order to enable the L-shaped side edge portions of the side walls 8 and 10 to pivot.
- the side walls 8 and 10 are connected via a plurality of vertically distributed hinge sections 22, e.g. B. by means of detachable plug-in joints.
- the L-shaped edge section 18 of the side wall 8 or 10 also has on its outside a plurality of vertically spaced projections 24 which, when the side wall 8 or 10 is pivoted open, fit into corresponding recesses 26 formed in the side edge sections 20 of the rear wall 6 engage, so that the projections 24 complete the recesses 26 when the side wall 8 or 10 is fully pivoted, ie by 90° to the rear wall 6 .
- the pivoting range of the side wall 8 or 10 is limited on the one hand by the interaction of the L-shaped edge sections 18 and 20 at a maximum of 90°, but on the other hand by T-shaped and vertically projecting stops 28 on the corresponding bottom edge (bottom edge section 32), which engage in corresponding T-shaped recesses 30 formed on the lower edge of the side wall 8 or 10 .
- the outward movement of the side wall 8 or 10 is limited by the interaction of the stops 28 and the recesses 30 .
- the stops and/or recesses have corresponding latching means to hold the side wall 8 or 10 in the pivoted open position ( 1 ) to lock with the floor 4. Due to the undercut recesses 30, the side wall is 8 or 10 secured in the pivoted position on the stops 28 in the vertical direction.
- the two side walls 8 and 10 are accommodated in the trough-shaped interior of the base 4 and the rear wall 6 encompasses the two opposite short base edge sections 32.
- the base edge section 32 34 is provided, which is completed by the L-shaped edge portion 20 of the rear wall 6 in the folded position (see 4 ).
- the two side walls 8 and 10 each have vertical grooves 36 on the side edge facing the folding lattice 12, which are open inward and downward (towards the floor).
- the folding grating 12 can be pulled vertically upwards along these grooves 36 and in the fully extended position, ie when the folding grating reaches the upper edge of the adjacent side walls 8 and 10, via latching means 48 (see 10 ) can be locked, as will be described later in detail.
- the rear wall 6 has two indentations 38 which are equally spaced from the center of the wall on both sides and run in the vertical direction, which are used to accommodate the grooves 36 which protrude slightly from the inner surface of the side wall when the side wall 8 or 10 is pushed inwards towards the rear wall 6 is pivoted. Since the two side walls 8 and 10 together are wider than the rear wall 6, they inevitably overlap when they are pivoted towards the rear wall 6.
- the container 2 according to the invention thus allows the two side walls 8 and 10 to be pivoted inwards in any order without disadvantage.
- the two side walls 8 and 10 in turn have vertical depressions 40 on their outside, which also serve to accommodate the groove 36 of the respective other side wall 8 or 10, which is pivoted inwards second.
- This enables the side walls 8 and 10 to be folded or pivoted together in a space-saving manner, without the user having to observe a predetermined pivoting sequence.
- the Figs. 5 to 10 describe a second embodiment of the invention, which differs from the first embodiment only in individual aspects, which is why the entire description of the first embodiment in relation to the second embodiment should not be repeated.
- the figure 5 shows a perspective rear view of the container 2', wherein it can also be seen here that the side wall 10 or 8 has L-shaped edge sections 18' and the rear wall 6 has L-shaped edge sections 20'.
- the L-shaped edge sections 18' of the side wall 10' have pivot pins 42' which can be clipped into corresponding pivot receptacles 44'.
- the L-shaped edge sections 20' of the rear wall 6' embrace the edge sections 18' of the side wall 10' or 8'.
- the raised and unfolded folding grid 12' can also be seen on the front of the container, which can prevent Objects can fall out of the container.
- the 6 shows a perspective partial plan view with the rear wall 6' and the two side walls 8' and 10' pivoted inward, with the left side wall 10' being pivoted inward in front of the right side wall 8' and the left side wall 10' on the inner wall of the rear wall 6 'Abuts and the right side wall 8' rests on the left side wall 10'.
- the second embodiment also differs in the surface design of the respective walls 6, 8 and 10, namely that these have (essentially) single-walled side walls with stiffening ribs instead of double-walled side walls with smooth surfaces.
- the 7 shows a detailed view VII from FIG 6 , namely the interaction of the L-shaped edge sections 18' and 20' of the rear wall 6' and side wall 10', respectively.
- the hinge axis runs through the free end of the L-shaped edge section 18' of the side wall 10' and through a section in the rear wall 6' which is indented around the leg of the L-shaped edge section 18' to provide the appropriate pivoting space for the L-shaped edge portion 18'.
- the mutually facing surfaces of the two L-shaped edge sections 18' and 20' or the inner surface of the edge section 20' of the rear wall 6' and the outer surface of the edge section 18' of the side wall 10' are provided with transverse grooves and ribs (parallel to the upper edge of the rear wall), which interlock alternately in the vertical direction.
- This shaping not only stiffens or strengthens the L-shaped edge sections 18' and 20', but also achieves a form fit between the side wall 10' or 8' and the rear wall 6', which relieves the joints.
- the 9 shows the side wall 10' immediately before reaching the maximum pivoting position.
- the stops 28' which are formed on the bottom edge 32', are not designed as T-shaped stops, but as almost rectangular tabs 28', in whose recesses there are corresponding projections 30', which are located on the outer wall side of the side wall 10 'Or 8' are formed in the lower edge area, penetrate and thus allow a vertical securing of the side wall 10' to the base 4'.
- the 10 shows the front corner area of the side wall 10 with the fully raised folding grille 12.
- the groove 36 is not open at the top, so that the upper end of the groove 46 forms an upper stop for the folding grille.
- a latching ramp 48 is formed, which after overcoming a vertical captive of the folding grid 12 in the in the 10 shown position allows. In order to overcome the latching ramp 48, some force must be applied to the folding grating 12 from above, as a result of which the folding grating 12 and/or the side wall 10 deflects to the side and the folding grating 12 is released.
- a container has been described in which the side walls which adjoin one another or are hinged to one another each have angled side edge sections which form an overlapping angle profile.
- the articulated connection between the side walls can also be increased if only one side wall section has an angled side edge section which, in the pivoted-up position (use position) (with its outside or inside) lies flat against the other side wall section.

Goods are usually delivered to the retailer in transport containers or boxes and are rearranged there from the transport container to the sales shelves. Instead of taking these out of the transport containers and putting them on the sales shelves and presenting them to the customer in this way, in recent years, for cost and space reasons, the goods have increasingly been presented to the customer in entire groups or stacks of goods or even in the transport crates. Since a large number of goods are sold in bags, cardboard packaging, etc., which can easily be damaged during transport, the transport crates must protect the delivered goods from all sides and completely against external forces. Furthermore, these should only have a low dead weight and should be compactable when empty in order to be able to store them temporarily or transport them back in a space-saving manner. Collapsible or collapsible plastic containers are generally used for this purpose. However, these containers are only suitable to a limited extent for presenting goods for sale, since the side walls, which protect the goods from all sides during transport, also cover the goods.
Against this background, the object of the present invention is to create a container that is equally suitable for the transport and presentation of goods and that solves the problems described above in connection with the prior art in a simple manner.
This object is solved by the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments are the subject of dependent claims.
In particular, this can be a display container for presenting goods. This container according to the invention has a substantially rectangular base, a first side wall section or a first (long) side wall which is hinged to the base and a second side wall section or a second (short) side wall which is not connected to the base the floor, but is articulated to the first side wall section or the first side wall. In this way, the second side wall section (the second side wall) can be folded into the first side wall section (for pivot the first side wall) sideways (about a vertical axis) and fold the first side wall section (the first side wall) together with the second side wall section (the second side wall) towards the ground and away. At the side edges facing each other, the second side wall section (which has an L-shaped side edge or connecting section and the first side wall section (the first side wall) and the second side wall section (the second side wall) are hinged to one another such that the at least one L- shaped side edge section of at least one of the two side wall sections lies flat against or adjoins the other side wall section at least in the first pivoting position
On the edge facing the base, the second side wall section has one or more shapes which, in the first pivoting position, interact with one or more complementary shapes formed on a corresponding base edge section of the base, in order to limit the outward pivoting range of the second side wall section.
In this way, the two side wall sections are connected to one another not only by their articulated connection, but also by a contact surface pair that is enlarged by the angled side edge section. The surface contact of the angled side edge section of one side wall section on the other side wall section defines a kind of stop and also a predetermined (in particular vertical) alignment of one side wall section with respect to the other side wall section. In this way it is achieved that the container, despite the lack of a (long) side wall, has sufficient stability of the two (short) side walls via the one (long) side wall. Because of the increased surface contact between the hinged sidewall sections, the pivoting sidewalls are more resistant to bending and/or torsional moments.
The interaction of the bottom-side shapes enables the second side wall section to be stabilized in the first pivoted position. By means of latching lugs or other latching means, it can be achieved that the second side wall section does not pivot inward by itself or in the event of minor impacts. In any case, these shapes prevent the second side wall section from being able to be pivoted outwards in addition to the L-profile in the vertical edge, e.g. B. due to slipping goods during transport. The shapes can also be designed in such a way that they allow not only a form fit to the side, but also in the vertical direction. For this purpose, the shapes can be T-shaped, which engage in correspondingly undercut recesses of the other container element.
In accordance with the present invention, the base formations are configured to provide a releasable interlock between the second sidewall portion and the base.
In the case of the container according to the invention, the base can be essentially rectangular, the first side wall section can be folded about a horizontal or base-parallel folding axis, specifically between a first, essentially vertically aligned, folded position and a second, inwardly folded, essentially horizontal folded position. The second side wall section can be pivoted about a vertical or ground-perpendicular pivot axis, specifically between a first pivot position in which the two side wall sections essentially form a right angle to one another and a second pivot position in which the second side wall section is pivoted toward the first side wall section. One or both of the angular profiles of the side edge portions of the two side wall portions are preferably also right angles. The first side wall section can be part of a side wall, in particular a long side wall or rear wall, or form the entire side wall. The second side wall section can be part of a side wall adjoining it, in particular a short side wall, or form the entire side wall. Furthermore, on both sides of the first side wall section, a second (substantially identical in configuration) Be provided side wall section. In this case, the first side wall section and the two second side wall sections can form a circumferential U-shaped side wall of the container. The two second side wall sections then form a type of wing walls or doors which can be pivoted inwards. The free ends of the two second side walls also still have sufficient stability via the respective angle profile pairs in the corner edges.
According to one aspect of the invention, the first side wall section and the second side wall section each have the at least one angled side edge section or connecting section, so that the angled side edge sections lie one inside the other at least in the outwardly pivoted (first) pivoted position in which the container is ready for use embrace each other and form one or more angled contact surface pairs.
In this way, the two side wall sections are connected to one another not only by their articulated connection, but also by a form-fitting contact connection. Thus, the side edges of the two side wall sections are not arranged in abutting manner, but rather have angle profiles that overlap or encompass one another and lie flat against or into one another. In this way it is achieved that the container creates sufficient stability of the remaining walls despite a missing (long) side wall.
Since the angled side edge portions overlap each other, the corner areas are reinforced and thereby can withstand greater impact loads. Due to the stabilization via the pair of angle profiles, there are also other requirements for the articulated connection, so that it can be designed more simply, since they no longer have to absorb the impact or bending forces acting on the container alone.
According to one aspect of the invention, the pivot axis can lie within the container corner defined by the two angled side edge sections or, seen from this, on one of the two side wall sections inwards be staggered. In this way, the necessary degree of freedom for pivoting the (L) angle profiles towards one another is made possible.
According to one aspect, the angled side edge section or sections of the second side wall section can be in surface contact within the angled side edge section or sections of the first side wall section in the first pivoted position. Alternatively, these may be arranged alternately inside and outside the angled side edge portions of the first side wall portion.
According to one aspect, the angled side edge sections can have mutually complementary shapes in the area of the contact surfaces, such as projections and recesses or ribs and grooves, which engage in one another at least in the first pivoting position. The stability is further increased by the positively interlocking outer and inner contours of the angled side edge sections. In this way it can be ensured that the two side wall sections cannot be moved vertically relative to one another. In addition, the shapes alone lead to reinforcement of the respective angled edge section, so that these cannot break even under greater loads.
According to an aspect of the invention, in the second folding position, the angled side edge portions of the second side wall portion may be inside the bottom edge portion and the angled side edge portions of the first side wall portion might be outside the bottom edge portion. By accommodating the bottom edge between the two side edge sections, the height of the collapsed container can be further minimized. Furthermore, the side wall sections are trapped to a certain extent by the bottom edge section, so that these z. E.g. during transport, they cannot rattle or hit against each other or twist under a corresponding load when stacked on top of each other.
According to one aspect, the bottom edge section can have one or more recesses, preferably on the outside, for flush accommodation of the angled side edge sections of the first side wall section in the second folded position. In this way, the play of the side wall sections can also be minimized in the folded state. Furthermore, this design measure also affects the overall height of the collapsed container.
According to one aspect of the invention, the second side wall section can have, on the other, opposite side edge section, a vertical groove which is open inwards, in particular also upwards, and which serves to accommodate a side wall insert. In this way, the container, which is closed on three sides via the side wall sections, can be pushed on the fourth side via a vertical sliding element, e.g. B. close a thin plastic sheet or by a cardboard box or by a retractable sliding grille or the like. The side wall insert also prevents the two second side wall sections from being pivoted inwards.
According to one aspect of the invention, locking means for releasably locking the side wall insert in one or more predetermined (height) positions can be provided on the groove itself or in the area of the groove.
According to one aspect of the invention, the floor may, on the side opposite the side wall section, have a floor edge section with a receptacle for a side wall insert, e.g. B. in the form of a vertically displaceable side wall element, Faltgitters or a traveling set. In this way, the side wall insert can be received and secured not only via the two grooves formed in the two second side wall inserts, but also in a groove in the floor.
According to one aspect, the wall thickness of the at least one angled side edge section of the first side wall section and the at least one angled side edge section of the second side wall section can be reduced in such a way that the side edge sections lying flat against each other have a wall thickness which is that of the first or second side wall section at another point is equivalent to.

On the basis of the embodiments, a container has been described in which the side walls which adjoin one another or are hinged to one another each have angled side edge sections which form an overlapping angle profile. The articulated connection between the side walls can also be increased if only one side wall section has an angled side edge section which, in the pivoted-up position (use position) (with its outside or inside) lies flat against the other side wall section.
