- One such detection system involves a radar system oriented to detect objects in the railway.
- the orientation of the radar system's antenna must be accurate to ensure the targeting zone of the radar covers the area of interest. It is not uncommon for the radar system to have a working range of 50 m to ensure adequate coverage of a railway crossing. A change in the antenna orientation of 1 degree will result in an approximately 1 m change in the targeting zone at 50 m, which can be sufficient for the radar to miss an obstacle. For instance, if the 1 degree change is in the inclination axis, the targeting zone may move above or below an obstacle.

Since the waveguide 104 is fastened to the pivot bar 120 and the radar transceiver 102 is fastened to the waveguide 104, adjusting the orientation of the pivot bar 120 also results in movement of the radar transceiver 102 relative to the frame 130. Loosening the fasteners 132 permits movement of the radar transceiver 102 relative to the frame 130 without inducing stress on the components. Once adjustment of the pivot bar 120 is completed, the fasteners 132 may be refastened to secure the radar transceiver 102 to the frame and help hold the adjusted orientation of the pivot bar 120 and reflector element 106.
- the frame 130 has mounting flanges 134 provided on each side of the frame 130. Each mounting flange 134 has holes 136 formed therein that may be used to mount the microwave antenna 100 in use.
- the threaded fasteners 128 permit adjustment of the orientation of the pivot bar 120 and reflector element 106 relative to the frame 130.

Such a microwave antenna 100 may reduce installation time during replacement or servicing of microwave antennas.

Claims (10)
- Antenne hyperfréquence (100) pour détecter des obstacles dans une zone de ciblage sur une voie ferrée, comprenant :un émetteur-récepteur radar (102) ;un guide d'ondes (104) attaché à l'émetteur-récepteur radar (102) ;un élément réflecteur (106) ;une barre de pivot (120) fixée au guide d'ondes (104) et à l'élément réflecteur (106), la barre de pivot configurée pour stabiliser et fixer l'un à l'autre le guide d'ondes et l'élément réflecteur conformément à des positions relatives et angles prédéterminés de ceux-ci ;caractérisée en ce quel'antenne hyperfréquence (100) comprend en outre une pluralité de fixations filetées (128) configurées pour ajuster l'orientation de la barre de pivot et de l'élément réflecteur pour ajuster la zone de ciblage, etla barre de pivot est montée entre la pluralité de fixations filetées (128).
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon la revendication 1, comprenant en outre des premier et deuxième bras (122, 124) espacés et configurés pour recevoir des extrémités opposées de la barre de pivot (120), dans laquelle la barre de pivot est montée à au moins l'un des bras par l'intermédiaire de la pluralité de fixations filetées.
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon la revendication 2, dans laquelle la barre de pivot (120) est montée à l'un et l'autre des bras (122, 124) par l'intermédiaire de la pluralité de fixations filetées (128).
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon la revendication 2 ou 3, dans laquelle a barre de pivot (120) est montée au bras ou à chaque bras (122, 124) par l'intermédiaire de deux paires de fixations filetées (128), chaque paire de fixations filetées agencée dans une configuration opposée avec la barre de pivot fournie entre eux.
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon l'une quelconque des revendications 2 à 4, comprenant en outre un châssis (130) auquel les premier et deuxième bras (122, 124) et l'émetteur-récepteur radar (102) sont fixés, dans laquelle les fixations filetées (128) sont configurées pour ajuster l'orientation de la barre de pivot (120) et de l'élément réflecteur (106) par rapport au châssis.
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon une quelconque revendication précédente, dans laquelle les fixations filetées (128) sont configurées pour ajuster l'orientation de la barre de pivot (120) et de l'élément réflecteur (106) dans deux axes.
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon une quelconque revendication précédente, dans laquelle les fixations filetées (128) sont configurées pour ajuster l'orientation azimutale de la barre de pivot (120) et de l'élément réflecteur (106).
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon une quelconque revendication précédente, dans laquelle les fixations filetées (128) sont configurées pour ajuster l'orientation d'inclinaison de la barre de pivot (120) et de l'élément réflecteur (106).
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon une quelconque revendication précédente, dans laquelle les fixations filetées (128) comprennent des vis ayant au moins 100 filetages par pouce.
- Antenne hyperfréquence selon une quelconque revendication précédente, dans laquelle le guide d'ondes (104) comprend en outre un rebord (114), l'élément réflecteur (106) étant fixé au rebord et la barre de pivot (120) étant fixée au rebord et à l'élément réflecteur.
