Das erfindungsgemäße Gestrickteil zeichnet sich durch die Ausbildung eines oder mehrerer definierter Wellenabschnitte aus, die an der linken, also zum Träger gewandten Warenseite die Erhebungen aufweisen respektive ausbilden, welche sich relativ zum eigentlichen Grundgestrickabschnitt aus der Gestrickteilebene erheben. Innerhalb jedes Wellenabschnitts sind zwei unterschiedliche Maschenstäbchenformen ausgebildet, die z.B. benachbart aneinander anschließen, nämlich ein erstes Maschenstäbchen und ein zweites Maschenstäbchen. Im ersten Maschenstäbchen ist in zumindest in der ersten Maschenreihe und wenigstens einer weiteren Maschenreihe, bevorzugt in jeder Wellenabschnitt-Maschenreihe eine Masche gestrickt, das heißt, dass in Maschenstäbchenrichtung in zwei, mehreren oder jeder Maschenreihe einzelne Maschen aneinander anschließen. Im Wellenabschnitt, z.B. benachbart zum ersten Maschenstäbchen, ist ein zweites Maschenstäbchen gestrickt. In diesem ist in einer ersten Wellenabschnitt-Maschenreihe eine Masche gestrickt, die sich über mehrere Wellenabschnitt-Maschenreihen erstreckt, also wenigstens die zweite, gegebenenfalls auch die dritte oder vierte Wellenabschnitt-Maschenreihe übergreift und erst dann wieder vermascht ist. Während also im ersten Maschenstäbchen mehrere oder jede Masche gestrickt ist, ist im zweiten Maschenstäbchen die erste Masche respektive die Masche der ersten Wellenabschnitt-Maschenreihe durch die Nadel während des Strickens der mehreren Maschenreihen gehalten und wird erst dann verstrickt, wenn wieder eine durchlaufende Wellenabschnitt-Maschenreihe gestrickt wird. Hieraus resultiert, dass sich das Gestrick im Wellenabschnitt noch weiter als durch die "langen" Maschen im zweiten Maschenstäbchen zusammenzieht, mithin also die Erhebung verstärkt wird respektive stärker aus der Gestrickteilebene hervortritt. Der elastische Schussfaden führt also zu einer verbesserten Ausbildung einer solchen Erhebung im Wellenabschnitt. Es ergibt sich also eine quasi geradlinig in Querrichtung des Gestrickteils laufende rippenartige Erhebung. Alternativ dazu ist es denkbar, mehrere erste oder zweite Maschenstäbchen nebeneinander zu stricken, denen eine oder mehrere zweite oder erste Maschenstäbchen folgen. Letztlich sind beliebige Stäbchenfolgen möglich. Alternativ ist es denkbar, dass Unterabschnitte umfassend ein oder mehrere Paare aus einem ersten und einem zweiten Maschenstäbchen oder umfassend nur erste oder nur zweite Maschenstäbchen in Stäbchenrichtung versetzt zueinander gestrickt sind. Anders als bei der zuvor beschriebenen, rippenartigen Ausgestaltung kann auf diese Weise eine Zick-Zack- oder wellenförmige Erhebungsgeometrie gestrickt werden. Denkbar ist es aber auch, dass die Unterabschnitte über ein oder mehrere Maschenstäbchen voneinander getrennt sind. Da sich jede zweite Masche der ersten Grundgestrick-Maschenreihen jeweils in die zweite Grundgestrick-Maschenreihe erstrecken, sich also ebenfalls verlängerte Maschen ausbilden, und demzufolge in der zweiten Grundgestrick-Maschenreihe nur jede zweite Masche gestrickt ist, ist im Grundgestrickabschnitt folglich ein reduziertes Maschenvolumen gegeben.
