Description

The present invention relates to a profile of perfected type, for base finishing partition walls. The field of the invention is that of profiles that have the function of supporting and finishing partition walls.
The current profiles for finishing walls are constituted by flattened shaped skirting boards which, once fitted, do not allow changes to be made to the same, whether structural or aesthetic, so as to adapt them to the environment and to the specific needs of the wall being fitted.
WO 2014/023821 A1 describes a profile for finishing walls in general and US 4 545 162 A relates to moldings which serve as grounds for finish material.
EP 2 090 717 A1 describes a profile for base finishing walls according to the preamble of claim 1.
The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a profile for base finishing partition walls which allows making changes to them even after the first installation thereof, for example for aesthetic purposes, or to confer functional capacities to the same.
This and further objects are achieved with the profile and the partition wall respectively of claims 1 and 7.
Preferred embodiments of the invention result from the remaining claims.
In relation to the profiles of the prior art, the one of the invention offers the advantage of showing versatility, in terms of both aesthetics (for the possibility of applying thereon auxiliary profiles of different colours and materials) and function (for example by mounting a light source or something else inside the profile).
These and further objects, advantages and features result from the following description of some preferred embodiments of the profile of the invention illustrated, by way of non-limiting examples, in
Figures 4-6 of the accompanying drawings. Figures 1-3 show profiles which are not arrangeable on opposite sides of a partition wall as required by the invention.

The profile generally indicated with 1 in Figure 1, is applied in a corresponding seat of the wall 2, so as to achieve the desired finishing with the floor 3.
According to the invention the profile 1 has in section an upper wing 4 which rests on the outer surface of the wall 2 and a concave portion 5 which is housed inside a corresponding cavity formed at the base of the wall itself. In particular the aforementioned concave portion 5 has, in section, a base side 6 and two top and bottom sides, 7 and 8 respectively, which, as a whole, form a chamber 9 provided with an opening 10 directed towards the outside of the wall 2. Advantageously, moreover, the profile 1 has a suitable adhesion knurling to the formation material of the same wall (for example by means of a suitable adhesive), on the surface of the vertical side 6 that is in contact with the wall 2.
According to the invention, indicated with H is the overall height of the profile 1, the height H1 of the opening 10 of the chamber 9 is between H/1.5 and H/4, while the length L of the horizontal sides 7 and 8 is between H/2 and H/5 (Figure 2). In particular, according to a preferred example of the invention, are H = 50 cm, H1 = 21 cm and L = 12.5 cm.
As illustrated in Figure 2, inside chamber 9 a batten 12 which closes the aforementioned opening 10 is applied and is made of a material that, by colour or finishing for example, differs from that of the visible parts of the profile 1. As represented in Figure 3, the chamber 9 of the profile 1 accommodates a LED strip 13, suitably masked by a screen 14 in semi-transparent or opal plastic material, placed at the mouth 10 of the same chamber 9.
In the embodiment illustrated in Figure 4, the profile of the invention is generally designated by the reference number 18 and is used as a support and finishing element for the lower edge of a partition wall 19. Also in this case the profile 18 has upper wings 15,16 and inner chambers 20 and 21, placed on each side of the wall 19 and suitable to perform the functions already described with reference to the preceding figures.
As illustrated in Figure 6, the profile 18 is framed on the partition wall 19 with an upright 22, to which is connected by means of a cap 23 (Figure 5), also provided with chambers 24 and 25, suitable for achieving the necessary continuity with the corresponding chambers 20, 21 of the profile 18.

Claims

A profile for base finishing partition walls (19), having at least one wing (4,15,16) which is restable on the outer surface of said partition wall (19) and at least one concave portion which forms a corresponding chamber (9,20,21) housable inside the same partition wall (19), said chamber (9) having an opening (10) facing the outside of said partition wall (19) when said profile is mounted in its mounted state, said chamber (9) being defined in section between a bottom side (6) and two sides (7,8) respectively upper and lower, in which indicated by H the overall height of the profile, the height of said opening (10) is between H/1.5 and H/4, said profile being constituted by a profile (18) having two of said concave portions (20,21) each forming a corresponding chamber,
characterised in that
said chambers (20,21) are arrangeable on opposite sides of said partition wall (19).
Profile according to claim 1, characterized in that indicated by H is the overall height of the profile, the length (L) of said sides (7,8) is between H/2 and H/5.
The profile according to claim 1, characterized by providing a knurling (11) on the surface of said side (6) facing the wall (2).
The profile according to Claim 1, characterized by providing a batten (12) of material different from that for forming the profile (1), applied to the inside of said chamber (9) and for closing said mouth (10).
The profile according to Claim 1, characterized in that, housed inside said chamber (9), a LED strip (13) masked by a screen (14) arranged at the mouth (10) of the same chamber (9) is provided.
The profile according to claim 1, characterized by comprising a cap (23) for connecting said profile (18) and the respective upright (22) forming the frame of the wall (19), said cap (23) being provided with chambers (24,25) suitable for creating geometric continuity with the corresponding chambers (20,21) of the profile (18).
A partition wall, characterized by being provided with the profile according to one or more of the preceding claims.
