Description
- The subject matter of the invention is a reinforced profile for sash frames according to the preamble of claims 1 and 8 and a set of reinforced profiles according to the preamble of claim 9. The reinforced profile as well as profiles forming the set of reinforced profiles are made of plastic, whereby the profile of the sash frame is matched with its shape and dimensions to the profile of window casing frame and contacts the profile of window casing frame indirectly by seals.
- The ease of manufacture of plastic profiles has resulted in that more and more often plastic replaces the traditional material, that is wood, in the manufacture of window, door and facade frames, as well as entire internal structures of buildings. On one hand, the profiles are light, but on the other hand, their transverse rigidity is usually much lower than the rigidity of square-sawn timber from which window frames and the like are made. In order to increase the transverse rigidity of the profiles made of plastic, for example PVC, used to manufacture window, door and façade elements, and window casing frames, metal sections are used which are placed inside the plastic profile. The profile of this type is known from the publication of Polish patent application no.
P.309623 - The application specification publication
EP 0814228 A2 , titled "Verstärkungsprofil für Kunststoff-Hohlprofile zur Herstellung von Fenster, Türen oder dgl." discloses a reinforced profile consisting of several profiles. A section made of materials having different characteristics of heat conduction is placed in a chamber of at least one hollow profile. Reinforcing profiles can be made from a combination of one or more metal elements and one or more plastic sections. - In turn, Publication of German Patent Application
DE 2 300 954 A1 titled "Fenster oder Fenstertür aus Kunststoff" shows windows and window door having a fixed and movable frame made of plastic. In the plastic movable frame is fitted a reinforcing strip made of metal, which in cross section has two superposed H-beams. - From description
GB 2 259 934 A - Publication of German Utility Model Description
DE 94 06 202.1 U1 titled "Fensterflügelrahmen-Hohlprofil und daraus bestehender Doppelflügel-Fensterrahmen" describes a frame hollow profile, in particular of plastic, the outside one serving to mount the window glass. Each of an outer profile and an inner profile as well as an intermediate contains a metallic reinforcing profile with a cavity placed in a central region.DE 94 06 202.1 U1 discloses the features of the preambles of independent claims 1 and 8. - Another way to increase the exposure to light in rooms is to reduce a height of profiles from which frames are made. However, windows and doors, and moving parts of facades, made from prior art low-profile sections, deform over time, which poses problems with their opening and closing.
- To sum up, low stiffness or rigidity of plastic profiles is one of the problems that must be overcome if one wishes to use plastic profiles in the manufacture of window, door and facade element and window casing frames.
- The purpose of the present invention is to create a profile with reduced height, the coefficient of flexural strength of which would be not lower than the coefficient of flexural strength of currently used profiles.
- According to the invention and referring to the profile this task has been solved by a reinforced profile with features of claim 1 and 8, whereas in the case of the set of reinforced profiles the task has been solved by features of claim 9.
- Preferred embodiments of the reinforced profile and the set of reinforced profiles according to the invention are subject of dependent claims, and also have been described herein, in particular, in conjunction with the figures.
- The object of the invention is a reinforced profile, especially a plastic profile, for sash frames, surrounding the filling of the sash frame and comprising an external wall with an oblique wall, a pane-surrounding wall, a middle wall with a recess for window fitting and passing into a seal-mounted wall, and an under-pane wall, an internal wall with an under-strip surface, and a lower wall which surround an interior of the profile in which is created additional chambers and a main chamber in which a reinforcing section or profile is located. The main chamber according to the invention, in the vicinity of a lower region of the internal wall, has an additional space located below a level of a front surface of the middle wall and surrounded by the seal-mounted wall and by a vertical wall and by a horizontal wall of lower internal additional chambers, whereas the reinforcing section or profile has an extension of an internal arm, which is located in the additional space. The reinforcing section has a shape of the letter "n", the internal wall of which with the extension and with an internal bending contacts the vertical wall and the horizontal wall of the lower internal additional chambers. Length of the extension of the internal arm located in the additional space below the level of the front surface of the middle wall is no smaller than 12% of the whole height of the profile, defined by a distance running perpendicularly to an under-pane surface and passing through the two most distanced points of the profile. The horizontal wall of the offset and the oblique wall of the offset diverge from an upper right corner of the profile and the whole height of the profile amounts from 0.9 to 1.1 of the width of profile defined by the distance between the surface of the external wall and the surface of the internal wall, whereby a height of a part of the profile situated below the front surface of the middle wall amounts from 15% to 35% of the whole height of_the profile.
- It is true that reducing the height of the profile and increasing the exposure to light in rooms causes the reduction of the coefficient of flexural strength in relation to an axis situated in a plane of the cross-section of the profile and in parallel to a plane of the front surface of the middle wall, however, the extension of the internal arm situated in the additional space located below the level of the front surface of the middle wall causes the coefficient of flexural strength in relation to the mentioned axis to increase. Additionally, elongating the internal arm of the reinforcing section causes the coefficient of flexural strength in relation to an axis situated perpendicularly to the above mentioned axis to increase.
- Preferably, the internal wall has a flat under-strip surface oriented towards the interior of the room, which can be inclined in relation to a vertical plane by an angle in the range from -30° to 30°.
- Preferably, the internal wall has a convex under-strip surface oriented with its convexity towards interior of the room.
- According to the invention of claim 1, the main wall contacting the under-pane wall is completed with a multiple bending, in a shape of the letter "z" lying, contacting one of the vertical walls of the external additional chamber.
- According to the invention of claim 8, the horizontal wall and the external wall with bendings contact the under-pane wall and one of the vertical walls of the external additional chamber.
- Preferably, a height of the profile amounts from 30.0 mm to 150.0 mm, whereby a height of a profile part situated above the under-pane wall and a height of a profile part situated below the front surface amount from 15% to 35% of the whole height of the profile, whereas the width of the profile amounts from 50.0 mm to 120.0 mm.
- Preferably, the width of the main chamber of the profile amounts from 40% to 75% of the width of the profile whereas the width of each of the additional chambers of the profile amounts from 5% to 10% of the width of the profile.
- Preferably, the reinforcing section having the shape of the letter "n" is made from sheet metal or composite material.
- The object of the invention is also a set of reinforced profiles, especially plastic profiles, for window casing frames and sash frames, comprising the profile for forming the window casing frame and a reinforced profile for forming the sash frame according to claim 1 or claim 8, comprising an external wall with an oblique wall, a pane-surrounding wall, a middle wall with a recess for window fitting, passing into a seal-mounted wall, and an under-pane wall, an internal wall with an under-strip surface, and a lower wall which surround an interior of the profile with additional chambers and a main chamber in which a reinforcing section is located. The main chamber in the vicinity of a lower region of the internal wall has an additional space located below a level of a front surface of the middle wall, and surrounded by the seal-mounted wall and by a vertical wall and by a horizontal wall of lower internal additional chambers, and the reinforcing section has an extension of its internal arm, which is located in the additional space. An interprofile space between the profile of the window casing frame and the reinforced profile of the sash frame is limited from the bottom by a middle wall of the profile and from the top by a middle wall with a seal-mounted wall of the profile and from sides by a high-placed part of a reinforced external wall placed above the middle wall of the profile of the window casing frame, and by the seal-mounted wall directed downwardly and running to the internal wall of the profile, wherein a distance a between a surface of outwardly directed edges of a longitudinal groove and an outer surface of the internal wall increased by thickness d of a flattened seal placed partially in a groove is equal to a distance b between surfaces of outwardly directed edges of a longitudinal groove and an outer surface of the external wall increased by a thickness c of a flattened seal placed partially in the groove and wherein the outer surfaces of the profile of the window casing frame and the reinforced profile of the sash frame are situated parallel to each other.
- Preferably, the interior of the profile for forming the window casing frame and the profile for forming the sash frame is divided into the main chamber and the additional chambers by means of additional walls, the thickness of which does not exceed 35% of the thickness of the external wall.
- The present invention has been presented in an embodiment in drawings, in which

Figs. 10 and 11 show cross-sections of reinforced profiles of sash frame with a convex under-strip surface of the internal wall from whichFig. 10 does not fall under the scope of protection. -
Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of a set of reinforced profiles, especially plastic profiles, for window casing frames and sash frames, and demountable façade elements, which, in order to avoid repeating the two terms, will be referred to as profiles of sash frames. In particular,Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of aprofile 10 of window casing frame and aprofile 20 of sash frame. Theprofile 10 of window casing frame, which can be defined by convention as a first profile of the set presented, is matched with its shape and dimensions to theprofile 20 of the sash frame, which can be defined by convention as a second profile and which contacts theprofile 10 of window casing indirectly by seals, in particular by aseal 30 placed in alongitudinal groove 130 and aseal 60 placed in agroove 160, closing an inter-profile space 90 between the profiles. Theprofile 10 of window casing frame has a reinforcedexternal wall 11 which is completed with anoblique wall 15 and which is, for example, reinforced partially with anadditional wall 112, amiddle wall 12 connected to theadditional wall 112 and to aninternal wall 14 with arebate surface 114, which, together with a wall-mountedwall 13 withanchors 17, surround an interior of theprofile 10. The interior of theprofile 10 with alongitudinal axis 110 is divided into chambers, for example into amain chamber 19 andadditional chambers vertical walls 115 situated parallel to an external surface of theexternal wall 11, and byhorizontal walls 18 located parallel to the wall-mountedwall 13. In themain chamber 19, a first reinforcingsection 119, made from, for example, sheet metal or composite material, is placed. Thickness of the sheet metal or the composite material sheet, from which the reinforcing section is made, is 25% to 200% of the thickness of walls surrounding the interior of the profile. The main part of theprofile 10 without atop part 111 of theexternal wall 11 and without a top part placed above themiddle wall 12 has a shape of a figure inscribable in a polygon, in particular in a rectangle. At the confluence of theoblique wall 15 and theadditional wall 112, the above-mentionedlongitudinal groove 130 with protruding edges facing each other is located, in which theseal 30 with arebate 31 forming part of the sealing of contact area of the twoprofiles seal 30 has alongitudinal leaf 32 having a cross-section in shape of a mushroom, which is matched with its dimensions and shape to the dimensions and shape of thelongitudinal groove 130 of theprofile 10 of window casing. - In turn, the
profile 20 of the sash frame surrounding the filling, for example glazing, of the sash frame has anexternal wall 21 with anoblique wall 121, a pane-surroundingwall 22, a middle wall 23 with arecess 27 for a window fitting, passing into a seal-mounted wall 123, an under-pane wall 122, an internal wall 24 with an under-strip surface 124, and a lower wall 25 which surround the interior of theprofile 20. The interior of theprofile 20 with alongitudinal axis 120 is divided into chambers, for example into a main chamber 29, internal additional chambers 26 and externaladditional chambers 136, byvertical walls 148 located parallel to anexternal surface 126 of theexternal wall 21, and by horizontal walls 28 located parallel to the under-pane wall 122. The main chamber 29, in this embodiment, in a lower region of the internal wall has an additional space 129 located below a level of afront surface 127 of the middle wall 23 and surrounded by the seal-mounted wall 123 and by a vertical wall 128 and by a horizontal wall 28 of lower internal additional chambers 26. In the embodiment shown inFig. 1 , in the main chamber 29, a reinforcing profile or reinforcing section 70 in the shape of the letter "n" is placed, made for example from sheet metal or composite material, a lower part of an internal arm of which, formed from an internal wall 74, with an extension 75 and with an internal bending 76, contacts the vertical wall 128 and the horizontal wall 28 of the lower internal additional chambers 26 and is located in the additional space 129, located under the level of thefront surface 127 of the middle wall 23. A remaining part of the reinforcing section 70, namely ahorizontal wall 78 of the offset, anoblique wall 77 of the offset, amain wall 71 and anexternal wall 72 with anexternal bending 73, contacts the under-pane wall 122 and one of the additionalvertical walls 148 of the externaladditional chamber 136. Thickness of the additional walls of theprofiles external wall ribs 79. By extending the longer arm of the reinforcing section 70 and by placing the lower part of the internal arm formed from the internal wall 74 with the extension 75 and with the internal bending 76 in the additional space 129 of the main chamber, the moment of inertia is increased, and in particular the coefficient of flexural strength relative to a straight line passing through thelongitudinal axis 120 and parallel to the under-pane wall 122 of theprofile 20 is increased. - The
profile 20 of the sash frame has walls which surround the interior of the profile and which have a thickness of 2.0 mm to 3.5 mm, whereas the additional walls, surrounding the additional chambers, have a thickness not exceeding 50% of the thickness of the walls which surround the interior of the profile. The height of theprofile 20 defined by distance between two parallel lines running through two most distanced points of the profile amounts from 30.0 mm to 150.0 mm, whereby height of a part of the profile situated above the under-pane wall 122 and height of a profile part situated below the front surface amount from 25% to 35% the whole height of the profile. In turn, a width of the profile, defined by a distance between a surface of the external wall and a surface of the internal wall, amounts from 50.0 mm to 120.0 mm, whereas a width of the main chamber amounts from 40% to 75% of the whole width of the profile and a width of each of additional chambers amounts from 5% to 10% of the whole width of the profile. - In one of the embodiments the whole height of the
profile 20 defined by the distance running perpendicularly to an under-pane surface 122 and through two most distanced points of the profile amounts from 0.9 to 1.1 of the width ofprofile 20 defined by a distance between a surface of the external wall and a surface of the internal wall, whereby the height of a part of the profile situated below thefront surface 127 of the middle wall 23 amounts from 15% to 35% of the whole height of the profile. Additionally, the extension 75 of the internal arm of the reinforced profile placed in the additional space 129 below the level of thefront surface 127 of the middle wall 23 is no smaller than 12% of the whole height of theprofile 20 defined by a distance running perpendicularly to an under-pane surface and through the two most distanced points of theprofile 20. Such proportions between the width of the profile, the whole height of the profile and the height of the part below the front surface of the middle wall as well as the length of the arm extension of the reinforced profile allow to create a low-height profile that increase lightening of rooms after using the low-height profiles to construct windows, doors and outer facade. - At the confluence of the
oblique wall 121 and the pane-surroundingwall 22, alongitudinal groove 150 with protruding edges facing each other is located, in which aseal 50 with aclosing rabbet 51 is placed, which seals the contact point between theprofile 20 and the filling, for example glazing not shown herein, able to be placed in acavity 80. Theseal 50 has alongitudinal leaf 52 having a cross-section in shape of a mushroom, which is matched with its dimensions and shape to the dimensions and shape of thelongitudinal cavity 150 of theprofile 20 of sash frame. In turn, at the confluence of the seal-mounted wall 123 and the lower wall 25, alongitudinal groove 160 with protruding edges facing each other is located, in which aseal 60 with a closing rabbet orrebate 61 forming a part of the sealing of contact area of the twoprofiles seal 60 has alongitudinal leaf 62 having a cross-section in shape of a mushroom, which is matched with its dimensions and shape to the dimensions and shape of thelongitudinal cavity 160 of theprofile 20 of sash frame. Further, at the confluence of the under-pane wall 122 and the internal wall 24, there is a longitudinal cavity 140 partially closed by a bending 145 of the internal wall 24, in which acatch 43 of theglazing strip 40 with anarcuate surface 42 and withsusceptible tabs 41 which adhere to the filling when it is placed in thecavity 80 is placed. In the embodiment shown inFig. 1 , thearcuate surface 42 of theglazing strip 40 passes into the flat surface 124 of the internal wall 24 which is positioned vertically in this embodiment. In other embodiments, the flat surface 124 of the internal wall 24 is inclined from a vertical plane by an angle in the range of - 30° to 30°. - In another embodiment, not shown in the drawing, the flat surface 124 of the internal wall 24 passes into the flat surface of the glazing strop which lies in the plane of the flat surface and which, at the top, passes into a strip oblique wall which has an upper surface which is a mirror image of the
oblique wall 121. Such a configuration of the glazing strip gives the impression of symmetry of theprofile 20 on both sides of the filling, for example glazing, of the sash frame. -

Fig. 7 another example of a set of reinforcingprofiles Fig. 1 , is shown in cross-section, and inFigs. 8, 9 ,10, 11 , cross-sections of other examples ofprofiles Figs. 7 ,8 ,9 and10 do not fail under the scope of protection. Theprofile 610 of the window casing frame, which can be defined by convention as a first profile of the set presented, is matched with its shape and dimensions to theprofile 720 of the sash frame, which can be defined by convention as a second profile and which contacts theprofile 610 of window casing indirectly by seals, in particular by aseal 630 placed in alongitudinal groove 635 and aseal 760 placed in agroove 765. Theprofile 610 of the window casing frame has a reinforcedexternal wall 611 which is completed with arounded wall 615 and which is, for example, reinforced partially with anadditional wall 636, amiddle wall 612 connected to theadditional wall 636 and aninternal wall 614 with aclosing rabbet surface 637, which, together with a wall-mountedwall 613 withanchors 617, surround the interior of theprofile 610. The interior of theprofile 610 with alongitudinal axis 625 is divided into chambers, for example into a main chamber 619 andadditional chambers 616, byvertical walls 648 located parallel to an external surface of theexternal wall 611, and byhorizontal walls 618 located parallel to the wall-mountedwall 613. In the main chamber 619, a reinforcing section 605, made from, for example, sheet metal or composite material, is placed. The main part of theprofile 610 without atop part 639 of theexternal wall 611 and theadditional wall 636 placed above themiddle wall 612, has the shape of a figure inscribable in a polygon, in particular in a rectangle. At the confluence of theoblique wall 615 and theadditional wall 636, the above-mentionedlongitudinal groove 635 with protruding edges facing each other is located, in which aseal 630 with aclosing rabbet 631 forming a part of the sealing of contact area of the twoprofiles seal 630 has alongitudinal leaf 632 having a cross-section in shape of a mushroom, which is matched with its dimensions and shape to the dimensions and shape of thelongitudinal groove 635 of theprofile 610 of window casing. - In turn, the
profile 720 of sash frame surrounding the filling, for example glazing, of the sash frame has anexternal wall 721 with anoblique wall 732, a pane-surroundingwall 729, amiddle wall 728 with arecess 727 for window fitting, passing into a seal-mountedwall 746, an under-pane wall 723, aninternal wall 724 with an under-strip surface 744, and alower wall 725 which surround the interior of theprofile 720. The interior of theprofile 720 with alongitudinal axis 735 is divided into chambers, for example into amain chamber 736 with alongitudinal rib 779, internaladditional chambers 726 and external additional chambers 764, by vertical walls 768 located parallel to an external surface of theexternal wall 721, byvertical walls 748 located parallel to the external surface of theinternal wall 724 and byhorizontal walls 749 located parallel to the under-pane wall 723. Themain chamber 736, in this embodiment, in a lower region of the internal wall has anadditional space 737 located below a level of afront surface 739 of themiddle wall 728, and surrounded by the seal-mountedwall 746 and by avertical wall 748 and by ahorizontal wall 749 of lower internaladditional chambers 726. In the embodiment shown inFig. 7 , in themain chamber 736, a reinforcingsection 770 in the shape of the letter "n" is placed, made for example from sheet metal or composite material, a lower part of a longer arm of which, formed from aninternal wall 774, with anextension 775 and with aninternal bending 776 contacts thevertical wall 748 and thehorizontal wall 749 of the lower internaladditional chambers 726 and is located in theadditional space 737, located under the level of thefront surface 739 of themiddle wall 728. The remaining part of the reinforcingsection 770, namely ahorizontal wall 778 of the offset, anoblique wall 777 of the offset, amain wall 771 and anexternal wall 772 with aninternal bending 773, contacts an under-pane wall 723 and one of the vertical walls 768 of the external additional chamber 764. By extending an internal arm of the reinforcingsection 770 and by placing the lower part of the internal arm formed from theinternal wall 774 with theextension 775 and with theinternal bending 776 in theadditional space 737 of the main chamber, the moment of inertia is increased. - At the confluence of the
oblique wall 732 and the pane-surroundingwall 729, alongitudinal groove 755 with protruding edges facing each other is located, in which aseal 750 with aclosing rabbet 751 is placed, which seals the contact point between theprofile 720 and the filling, for example glazing not shown herein, able to be placed in acavity 780. Theseal 750 has alongitudinal leaf 752 having a cross-section in shape of a mushroom, which is matched with its dimensions and shape to the dimensions and shape of the longitudinal groove of theprofile 720 of sash frame. Width e of thegroove 780 is greater than the thickness of the filling having the thickness of the flattenedseal 750 and flattenedtabs 741. In turn, at the confluence of the seal-mountedwall 746 and thelower wall 725, alongitudinal groove 765 with protruding edges facing each other is located, in which aseal 760 with aclosing rabbet 761 forming a part of the sealing of contact area of the twoprofiles seal 760 has alongitudinal leaf 762 having a cross-section in shape of a mushroom, which is matched with its dimensions and shape to the dimensions and shape of thelongitudinal groove 765 of theprofile 720 of the sash frame. Further, at the confluence of the under-pane wall 723 and theinternal wall 724, there is alongitudinal cavity 745 partially closed by a bending of theinternal wall 724, in which acatch 743 of aglazing strip 740 with anarcuate surface 742 and withsusceptible tabs 741, which adhere to the filling when it is placed in thecavity 780, is placed. In the embodiment shown inFig. 7 , thearcuate surface 742 of theglazing strip 740 passes smoothly into anarcuate surface 744 of theinternal wall 724. - Matching the two profiles to each other with their shape and dimensions consists in that, in the configuration of profiles shown in
Fig. 7 , aninter-profile space 790 is formed, which is limited at the bottom by themiddle wall 612 and at the top by themiddle wall 728 with the seal-mountedwall 746, and on the sides is limited by thetop part 615 of the reinforcedexternal wall 611 placed above themiddle wall 612 of theprofile 610 of the window casing frame, and by the diverging-downwards seal-mountedwall 746 of theprofile 720, reaching up theinternal wall 614 of theprofile 610. In turn, dimensional matching consists in that a distance a between thesurface 637 of protruding edges of thelongitudinal groove 635 and theexternal surface 638 of theinternal wall 614 increased by thickness d of the flattened sealing 760 mounted partially in thegroove 765 is equal to a distance b between the surfaces of protruding edges of the longitudinal groove 665 and theexternal surface 733 of theexternal wall 721, increased by thickness c of the flattened sealing 630 mounted partially in thegroove 635. With such a matching of the two profiles to each other, theprofile 720 of the sash frame is offset after being mounted in the window opening towards the interior of the room in relation to theprofile 610 of the window casing frame, and the external surfaces of the two profiles are parallel to each other. -
