Die Schaberklinge hat zudem die Aufgabe, die Oberfläche der Walze zu reinigen, so dass die Papierbahn nicht markiert wird. Aus diesem Grunde muss die in ihrer Haltevorrichtung befestigte Schaberklinge möglichst gleichmäßig über ihre gesamte Länge an der Walze anliegen. Zum Anpressen der Schaberklinge auf die Walzenoberfläche ist die Haltevorrichtung üblicherweise zweiteilig aufgebaut und besitzt eine Bodenplatte, die meistens am Maschinengestell befestigt ist. An dieser Bodenplatte ist eine Deckplatte schwenkbar befestigt, so dass die Schaberklinge von der Walzenoberfläche abgehoben beziehungsweise auf diese aufgesetzt und angepresst werden kann (
