Das hat den Vorteil, dass neben der Überwachung der Ventilgruppe auf Einhalten der zulässigen Leckage auch der Abluftausgang des elektropneumatischen Wandlers auf freie Durchgängigkeit geprüft wird, da ein Verstopfen des Ausgangs, beispielsweise wegen Vereisung oder Verschmutzung der Austrittsöffnung, selbst bei geringer Leckage zu einer Erhöhung des Gehäuseinnendrucks führt und somit auch bei dieser Störung die Ventilgruppe in die Sicherheitsstellung versetzt wird. Die obere Kammer 7 des Antriebs 1 ist mit einem Abluftanschluss 8 des Vorsteuerventils verbunden. Je nach Ansteuerung wird der Kammer 7 entweder mittels eines Zuluftventils 9 Druckluft von der Druckluftversorgungsleitung 6 zugeleitet oder von der Druckkammer 7 mittels eines Abluftventils 10 über einen Ventilausgang 11 in die Umgebung abgeleitet. Durch eine geeignete Verriegelungsmechanik, welche der Übersichtlichkeit wegen in der Figur nicht dargestellt ist, wird dafür gesorgt, dass die beiden Ventile 9 und 10 nie gleichzeitig geöffnet sind, da sonst Druckluft ungenutzt in die Umgebung entweichen könnte.
