Auch ist die Handhabung aufwendig, da das Herstellen der Kabelverbindung Arbeitszeit und somit bei großen Flurförderzeugflotten entsprechendes Personal erfordert. Für ein Verfahren zur Verwaltung von Flurförderzeugflotten ist die Anbindung der mobilen oder stationären Endgeräte über eine Bluetooth Schnittstelle von besonders großem Vorteil, da zum einen eine Vielzahl von Flurförderzeugen in einer Flurförderzeugflotte mit der Flottenverwaltungssoftware verbunden werden muss und zum anderen diese Verbindung auch noch sehr häufig und regelmäßig in dem Betrieb des Flurförderzeugs erfolgen muss. Lösungen die für eine Wartungsverbindung zu dem Flurförderzeug bekannt sind und eine besondere Hardware erfordern, sind daher gerade nicht geeignet für ein Verfahren zur Verwaltung von Flurförderzeugflotten. Es ist auch denkbar, dass neben mobilen Endgeräten stationär angeordnete Endgeräte, beispielsweise Computer oder Geräte mit Bluetooth-Schnittstelle, für die Verbindung eingesetzt werden, wenn diese sich in einem Bereich befinden, in dem sich die Flurförderzeug für die Durchführung eines Datenaustausches lange genug aufhalten. Dafür muss der Empfangsbereich entsprechend groß ausgelegt sein. Die Fahrzeugseriennummer ist für ein Flurförderzeug eindeutig und wird bei der Herstellung festgelegt.
