Abstract

The invention relates to a transport box, comprising a one-piece container (12), which has a base (16) and walls (18) extending from the base (16) and delimiting a transport chamber (20). The container consists of particulate foam made of expanded polypropylene (EPP), which comprises a plurality of foam particles sintered to each other, wherein the foam particles each comprise an outer wall and a substantially hollow inner chamber enclosed by the outer wall. According to the invention, the outer walls of the foam particles at the inner faces (22) of the container (12) which delimit the transport chamber (20) are thicker than in the remaining regions of the container (12) and form an inner skin (24) on the container (12).

Description

Transportbox Beschreibung Die Erfindung betrifft eine Transportbox gemäß Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1 .  The invention relates to a transport box according to the preamble of claim 1.
Solche Transportboxen werden insbesondere für den Transport von Lebensmitteln eingesetzt, die beispielsweise gekühlt transportiert werden müs- sen. Dabei hat sich herausgestellt, dass expandiertes Polypropylen (EPP) eine gute thermische Isolationswirkung mit einer guten Formbeständigkeit vereint. Insbesondere stellen sich Verformungen teilweise selbst wieder zurück. Bei der Herstellung werden Schaumpartikel aus EPP miteinander versintert, wobei mit einer Form der Behälter und mit einer anderen Form der Deckel jeweils einstückig hergestellt werden. Dabei bleiben zwischen den Schaumpartikeln Poren frei, die Hohlräume darstellen bzw. an den Oberflächen Vertiefungen bilden. Diese Vertiefungen wirken sich nachteilig aus, wenn eine solche Transportbox im Lebensmittelbereich wiederverwendet werden soll. Denn in den Vertiefungen kann sich Schmutz festsetzen, so dass die Transportbox vor einer Wiederverwendung sorgfältig gereinigt werden muß. Es wurde daher bereits vorgeschlagen, solche Transportboxen mit einer Kunststoffolie auszukleiden, was aber wiederum aufwendig ist.
