Definitions
- the invention relates to a support screw element to support a machine-module, comprising
- the alignment of the rotor can be very important.
- the alignment of the rotor has a strong influence on the radial clearance between the rotor and static parts, for example seals between the casing and the rotor, which on the one hand must be reasonable designed to guarantee a save operation under all operating conditions and on the other hand should not be to large since the efficiency would otherwise be effected negatively.
- radial clearances and therefore the alignment of the rotor is a key feature to obtain the best efficiency and therefore to save energy resources.
- a supported screw element of the incipiently mentioned type is provided with the additional features of the characterizing portion of claim 1.
- the adjustment-module provided to tune the axial length of the support screw element comprises at least two adjustment elements, wherein the first adjustment element is a respective partner of a threaded connection with the basic body and a second adjustment element.
- the second adjustment element defines the second end of the support screw element.
- the threaded connections are different with regard to pitch and turning direction to obtain an elongation effect by turning the first adjustment element according to the difference of the pitches respectively the thread leads or thread pitches.
- the invention therefore obtains a screw support element with the same obastness? as known from conventional ones but enabling a higher accuracy respectively better fine tuning features with regard to the axial elongation.
- a support element at the second end is provided, which is resiliently supported by en elastic element in such a manner that resilient displacement of the support element is possible along the central axis with regard to the basic body.
- a guidance is provided between the support element and the basic body allowing for linear relative movement along the central axis. This guidance avoids uncontrolled movement lateral to the central axis and therefore increases accuracy of the support.
- a further preferred embodiment provides a first adjustment element with means to engage a tool for turning the adjustment element along the central axis.
- This can be a width flat or a recess as provided for an allen screw.
- a further preferred embodiment comprises spring plates as the said elastic element, wherein the elastic element can be at least one spring plate but preferably several spring plates. With increasing load the spring plates are of bigger diameter as the other elements of the support screw element according to the invention.
- the invention also refers to an arrangement comprising a rotor, a barring and a support screw element as described before.
- the rotor can be a steam turbine rotor or a gas turbine rotor or a compressor rotor.
- the second adjustment element is preferably fixed to any adjacent module to the effect that the first adjustment element can be turned resulting in a predefined elongation according to the first threading and the second thread connection.
- the basic body is secured against rotation to avoid the rotation of the basic body when the first adjustment element is turned.
- Figure 1 shows schematically a part of steam turbine STT in a longitudinal section along a machine axis STAX.
- a rotor ROT is supported by a bearing BEA, wherein the bearing BEA comprises a support screw element SSE according to the invention and resiliently supporting a part of the bearing BEA to align the rotor ROT correctly.
- Figure 2 shows the bearing of figure 1 in a view along the machine axis STAX and showing the support screw elements SSE as hidden parts.
- the support screw elements are arranged in positions at approximately five o'clock and seven o'clock to obtain accurate and save support of the bearing respectively the rotor.
- Figure 3 shows a longitudinal section along a central axis AX of the support screw element SSE.
- Essential parts of the support screw element SSE are an adjustment-module ADM, a basic body BB and a support element SEL.
- the support screw element SSE has a longitudinal extend from a first end EN1 to a second end EN2, which extend can be elongated by tuning the adjustment-module ADM.
- the basic body is secured against rotation by means of a recess SR, which can be engaged with adjacent elements.
- the basic body BB is provided with a seal, here made as an o-ring OR to avoid leakage of oil of the bearing BEA.
- the support element SEL engages with a journal bearing of the bearing BEA, which journal bearing is resiliently supported due to an elastic element EEL between the basic body BB and the support element SEL.
- the support Element SEL is guided linearly along the central axis AX by means of a guidance GU. To avoid loss of the support element it is secured to the basic body by a secure element TB.
- the adjustment-module comprises a first adjustment element ADE1 and a second adjustment element ADE2, wherein the first adjustment element ADE1 is connected to the basic body a first threaded connection THC1 and the second adjustment element ADE2 is connected to the first adjustment element ADE1 by a second threaded connection THC2.
- the first threaded connection THC1 is arranged coaxial to the second threaded connection THC2 but is provided with a different thread pitch and a different direction of the thread.
- the second adjustment element ADE2 is fixedly connected to a static adjacent module by fixation element FS. Du to the fixation of the second adjustment element ADE2 and the basic body BB against rotation, only the first adjustment element ADE1 can be turned. Turning of the first adjustment element ADE1 results in a relative linear movement of the first adjustment element ADE1 and the basic body BB along the central axis AX. The amount of the movement respectively the amount of the elongation of the support screw element SSE depends on the difference of the thread pitch of the first threaded connection THC1 and the second threaded connection THC2.
- the second threaded connection is an ISO-G3 inch and the first threaded connection is an ISO-G7/8 inch thread.
- the supported screw element SSE extends along a distance TL from the first end EN2 along the central axis AX.
