Description

The present invention relates to a fastening device for fixing a dispensing member, such as a pump or a valve, on the neck of a tank. This type of fixing device is frequently used to fix pumps or valves on tanks in the fields of perfumery, cosmetics or even pharmacy. Other technical fields may also use such fasteners.

A particular type of fastening device uses a fixing ring and a hoop which extends in the final mounting position around the ring with a radial clamping. The fixing ring comprises receiving means for fixedly receiving the pump or the valve, an annular plate intended to exert an axial pressure on the neck of the reservoir and an attachment skirt which extends downwards from the plate, this skirt comprising hooking means for hooking around the tank neck.

In some cases, the function of the hoop is to block the hooking means of the ring around the neck of the tank. Blocking is done by preventing the ring from deforming radially outward. In other cases, the band has only an aesthetic function by partially or completely masking the fixing ring.

In all cases, it is necessary that the hoop be firmly held on the ring. Indeed, the lack of holding of the ring on the ring is a recurring problem in this type of ring fastener and hoop, and many solutions in the prior art have already been proposed to overcome it. Generally, it is attempted to achieve attachment profiles at the inner wall of the hoop in the form of hollow profiles or projecting. Since the fixing ring is very generally made of plastic and the metal ferrule, the plastic creep qualities of the fixing ring are used to flow around and / or in the profiles formed on the inner wall of the hoop. In the prior art, the documents are known EP-0 704 251 and US-6,253,941 who offer such solutions.

However, the solutions implementing profiles at the level of the band require special machining of the band which greatly increases its cost.

The object of the present invention is to overcome the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art by defining a fixing device whose hoop is extremely simple, and whose ring is made with well-known conventional molding techniques. According to the invention, the ring is made of two different plastic materials, namely a first substantially hard material and a second flexible material which is more flexible than the first material. Advantageously, the second flexible material comes into contact with the hoop. Thus, the soft deformation characteristics of the second flexible material are used to increase the quality of the contact between the ring and the hoop. The second flexible material is more easily deformable, and will therefore come into intimate contact with the hoop on an extended surface, which considerably increases the radial clamping to hold the hoop firmly on the ring. On the other hand, the hardness or stiffness characteristics of the first substantially hard material are used to firmly and securely receive the pump or the valve in the receiving means and to securely fix the hooking means on the neck of the tank. Therefore, this bi-material fixing ring offers both the advantages of the hard material for receiving the pump or valve and the fixation on the neck and the advantages of the flexible material for maintaining the band on the ring. It is possible that the hoop comes into contact with the second flexible material. Alternatively, the first hard material may also come into contact with the hoop.

According to a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, the skirt comprises several segments of hard material made with the first substantially hard material and several segments of flexible material made with the second flexible material, the segments being interspersed with to form a continuous skirt. Preferably, the segments extend axially downward from the tray. Thus, the hard and flexible segments are alternately and continuously arranged, so that the two hard segments surrounding a flexible segment will deform by compression the flexible segment during the mounting force of the band on the skirt. The deformation of the flexible segments has the effect of deform radially outwardly in contact against the inner wall of the hoop. Hard segments are used to constrain the soft segments tangentially and push them against the hoop.

According to a practical embodiment, the ring comprises a main body made with the first substantially hard material and a secondary body made with the second flexible material, the main body forming the receiving means, the plate and segments of hard material, the secondary body forming segments of flexible material each disposed between two segments of hard material.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the skirt is mainly made with the first substantially hard material and further comprises an outer coating made with the second flexible material, the outer coating coming into contact with the hoop. Advantageously, the ring comprises a sleeve which extends upwards from the plate, the sleeve is mainly made of the first substantially hard material and further comprises an outer coating made with the second flexible material, the outer coating coming into contact of the fret. In this case, the outer coating is deformed by radial compression between the hard material and the hoop. For example, it is possible to imagine that the segments of hard material are partially coated with flexible material. One can also imagine a continuous skirt of hard material that is partially or fully coated with flexible material.

According to a feature common to all embodiments, the tray may be made of the first rigid material and further comprises a neck seal made with the second flexible material.

According to a very practical embodiment, the ring may consist of a one-piece main body of substantially hard material and a one-piece secondary body of flexible material, the secondary body being advantageously overmoulded on the main body. It is thus possible to achieve the fixing ring without additional difficulty other than that related to overmolding or bi-injection technique.

According to another advantageous feature of the invention, the neck seal connects the segments of flexible material together in one piece. Advantageously, the neck seal and the outer coating are connected together by at least one bridge which passes through the skirt or sleeve. Thus, the entire flexible material is integrally connected, so that the mold only needs a single injection point.

According to another interesting aspect of the invention, the skirt comprises a free lower end which is initially flared outward before mounting the hoop on the ring. When the free bottom end of the skirt is made of both hard material and flexible material alternately, the radial deformation inward of this free end by the hoop will have the effect of deforming the segments inwardly. hardened which will reduce the space for the flexible segments which will then have the effect of pressing very strongly against the inner wall of the hoop, thus further improving the holding of the hoop on the ring.

The spirit of the invention is to concentrate in the ring all the qualities necessary for the reception of the pump or valve, the hooking on the neck and the holding of the band on the band, playing on the intrinsic qualities different constituent materials. For snapping and / or anchoring, the qualities of the hard material are used, and for radial clamping and friction the qualities of the flexible material are used.

The invention will now be more fully described with reference to the accompanying drawings giving by way of non-limiting examples two embodiments of the invention.

In the figures:

  • the Figures 6a and 6b are vertical cross-sectional views through the fixing ring of the Figures 1 to 5 respectively in the course of assembly and in final assembly position on a tank neck, and
  • the figure 7 is a vertical cross-sectional view through a fixing ring according to a second embodiment of the invention.

We will first refer to Figures 1 to 6b to describe in detail the structure and functions of the fixing ring according to a first embodiment of the invention. The ring B conventionally comprises receiving means 12 for receiving, for example by snapping, a dispensing member P, such as a pump or a valve. The dispensing member P may for example comprise a ratchet flange whose shape is adapted to that of the receiving means 12. The receiving means 12 also define a central passage hole 11 for the actuating rod of the pump or valve. The receiving means 12 extend on the outer periphery by a radial plate 13 which is intended to be disposed above the upper edge of the neck C of the reservoir R. The plate 13 has a general configuration in the form of a disc. The plate connects on its outer periphery to a substantially cylindrical skirt S which extends downwardly from the plate. The skirt S has an internal diameter adapted to that of the neck C of the tank R, so that the skirt can be mounted around the neck C. The skirt comprises fastening means 20 which are in the form of projecting profiles inwards intended to engage under a shoulder E formed by the neck C. In this first embodiment, the attachment means 20 are disposed near the free lower end of the skirt. It should also be noted that this free end is flared outwardly in the initial state. This is represented on the figure 6a . The flared bottom end is located on the axial path of the hoop 3 so that the hoop will deform inwardly the flared free end so as to push the fastening means 20 under the shoulder E. This is visible on the figure 6b . he This is a quite conventional design for a fastener using a fastener ring and a hoop.

As visible on Figures 6a and 6b , the hoop 3 has a generally cylindrical general configuration with a cylindrical main section 31 which is extended at its upper end by a reentrant annular flap 32. Advantageously, the inner wall of the cylindrical section 31 is smooth, that is to say without attachment profiles. The hoop 3 is engaged by force around the skirt S of the ring B. The hoop moves between an intermediate position of assembly shown on the figure 6a and a final mounting position shown on the figure 6b . On the figure 6a , the hoop is not yet engaged around the attachment means 20, while this is the case on the figure 6b . It can also be seen that the hoop has the effect of deforming the lower free end of the skirt S, and thus permanently engage the fastening means 20 under the shoulder E of the C-neck.

The fixing ring B is made of plastic by injection molding technique. According to the invention, the ring B is made of two different plastic materials, namely a first substantially hard material M1 and a second flexible material M2 which is more flexible than the first material M1. Thus, the two materials are distinguished mainly by their difference in hardness or flexibility. According to a characteristic of the invention, the second flexible material M2 is intended to come into contact with the band 3 so as to generate an intimate contact which increases the friction, and therefore the radial clamping. In the end, the holding of the ring on the ring is considerably improved. The contact between the ring and the ring can be entirely assured by the second flexible material M2. Alternatively, the first material M1 may also come into contact with the hoop.

In this first embodiment, the second flexible material M2 forms three segments of flexible material 24 which are arranged between three segments of hard material 14. The segments 14, 24 are arranged alternately forming a continuous skirt, that is, to say without slots. It can also be said that the slots formed between the segments of hard material 14 are completely filled by the flexible segments 24. This is visible on the Figures 1 to 5 . The hooking means 20 may be formed by the hard material segments 14 and / or the flexible material segments 24. The free bottom end is jointly formed by the ends 15 of the hard material segments 14 and the ends 25 of the segments. of flexible material 24. In a preferred variant, the flexible segments 24 are shorter than the hard segments 14, so that the free lower end is castellated. The flexible material segments 24 extend from the tray 13 downwards and terminate at the same level as the hard material segments 14. The hard material segments 14 are connected at their upper ends directly to the plate 13, which is made with the first hard material M1, as well as the receiving means 12. Advantageously, the plate 13 is provided with a neck joint 23 which is also made with the second flexible material M2. Advantageously, the neck seal 23 is made integrally with the segments of flexible material 24, as can be seen in FIG. figure 5 . The ring B is thus made with a main body 1 made with the first hard material M1 and a secondary body 2 made with the second flexible material M2. The main body 1 forms the receiving means 12, the plate 13 and the hard material segments 14, while the secondary body 2 forms the flexible material segments 24 and the neck joint 23. The main body 1 and the secondary body 2 can be made in the form of two separate pieces. Preferably, the main body and the secondary body are made integrally by overmolding or bi-injection. For example, the secondary body 2 may be overmoulded on the main body 1. figure 5 is not realistic for a fastening ring made in one piece, but allows to better understand the strategy of the ring.

When the ring B is in the position shown on the figure 6a it is practically unrestrained. On the other hand, when the band 3 is lowered around the ring B, the band comes in radial clamping around the skirt S, which is composed of both hard material M1 and flexible material M2. The segments of hard material 14 then compress the segments of flexible material 24, which in reaction deform outwardly in intimate contact against the inner wall of the hoop 3. This phenomenon is even more important at the lower ends 25 segments of flexible material 24 which are very strongly compressed by the lower ends 15 of hard material segments 14. This provides a considerable hold of the hoop 3 on the skirt S of the ring B.

We will now refer to the figure 7 which shows a second embodiment of the invention, which can however be implemented cumulatively with the first embodiment of the invention. Figures 1 to 6b . In this second embodiment, the ring B is mainly made with the first substantially hard material M1 which forms the receiving means 12, the plate 13, the skirt S 'and a sleeve 17. The ring further comprises a collar gasket 23 which is made with the second flexible material M2. The neck seal is arranged just below the plate 13 inside the skirt S '. According to the invention, the second flexible material M2 also forms an outer coating 24 'which extends partially or totally on the outer wall of the skirt S'. This outer coating 24 'may be for example in the form of several annular bands which extend around the skirt S'. Advantageously, the sleeve 17 may also be provided with an outer coating 27 at its outer wall. This outer coating 27 may have the same configuration as the outer coating 24 'of the skirt S'. In order to be able to mold all the external coatings 24 'and 27 together, they are connected by an injection bar 21 situated at the injection point Pi. On the other hand, the neck seal 23 can be connected. this bar 21 by one or more bridge (s) of material 22 which passes through (nt) the wall thickness of the skirt S 'and / or the sleeve 17.

De même, on peut imaginer que les segments de matériau dur 14 soient pourvus partiellement ou entièrement avec un revêtement externe du même type que le revêtement 24' de la jupe S'.Although this is not shown, one can imagine the ring of the first embodiment of Figures 1 to 6b with a socket 17 provided an outer coating made with the second flexible material M2. Similarly, it is conceivable that the segments of hard material 14 are provided partially or entirely with an outer coating of the same type as the coating 24 'of the skirt S'.

In the first embodiment, the second flexible material M2 which is pressed in contact with the inner wall of the hoop is subjected to tangential compression due to the fact that the segments of flexible material 24 are arranged between two segments of hard material 14. In the second embodiment of the figure 7 , the flexible material M2 which forms the outer coatings is deformed by radial compression between the hard material M1 and the hoop 3. In one case as in the other, the flexible material M2 is strongly supported with an intimate contact extended against the inner wall of the fret. This produces a considerably improved hold of the band 3 on the fixing ring. The strength can be further improved by providing protruding or hollow profiles at the inner wall of the hoop.
