Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a cleaning device for a spray gun.
  • Such cleaning machines are already known as illustrated by the patent FR-2903332 . These machines are currently being designed in the sense of reducing the number of operator operations, speed of cleaning, and simplification of the architecture of the machine. The objective is to allow an operator to be able, without disconnecting his gun from the cleaning device, to clean and then to dry the gun while simplifying the architecture of the device, in particular by limiting the length of the ducts and avoiding the passage of fluids of different types within the same conduit to facilitate subsequent cleaning of the device.
  • the patent GB-2,182,266 discloses a paint gun cleaning apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1 having a fluid supply head having a conduit for connection to the spray gun paint inlet, which can be supplied with liquid from the spray gun. cleaning or compressed air. To allow such a power supply, pumps are needed.
  • Gun cleaning facilities are also known through demand WO 2008/084327 and the patent US 2745418 . Again, such facilities are complex and require the presence of pumps, valves ...
  • An object of the present invention is therefore to provide an improved cleaning device whose design allows, with ducts of reduced length and dedicated to a single type of fluid, to carry out, for an operator, cleaning and then drying a gun without disconnecting the gun from said device.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning device of the aforementioned type whose design allows to minimize the stagnation of liquid fluid in the ducts of the cleaning device.
  • the subject of the invention is a cleaning device for a spray gun according to claim 1.
  • the fluid supply inlets are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the feed nozzle and that they are distinct, one serving for supplying cleaning fluid to the nozzle for cleaning the gun, the other to the supply of compressed air to the nozzle for drying said gun, the cleaning of the inlets and cleaning and drying ducts connectable to said inputs is facilitated and the length of said ducts reduced.
  • This arrangement makes it possible to dispense with a pump at the level of the cleaning device and to easily adapt the characteristics of the cleaning fluid to depending on the nature of the fluid to be sprayed.
  • the feed nozzle is mounted movably relative to the support frame in the direction of a connection or a spacing of the device of the evacuation means.
  • Such a device can thus be adapted to guns of variable characteristic.
  • each fluid supply inlet of the supply nozzle is an axial outlet with an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the duct of the supply nozzle.

Description

The present invention relates to a cleaning device for a spray gun.

Such cleaning machines are already known as illustrated by the patent FR-2903332 .

The patent GB-2,182,266 discloses a paint gun cleaning apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1 having a fluid supply head having a conduit for connection to the spray gun paint inlet, which can be supplied with liquid from the spray gun. cleaning or compressed air. To allow such a power supply, pumps are needed.

A nouveau, de telles installations sont complexes et nécessitent la présence de pompes, de valves...Gun cleaning facilities are also known through demand WO 2008/084327 and the patent US 2745418 . Again, such facilities are complex and require the presence of pumps, valves ...

An object of the present invention is therefore to provide an improved cleaning device whose design allows, with ducts of reduced length and dedicated to a single type of fluid, to carry out, for an operator, cleaning and then drying a gun without disconnecting the gun from said device.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning device of the aforementioned type whose design allows to minimize the stagnation of liquid fluid in the ducts of the cleaning device.

For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a cleaning device for a spray gun according to claim 1.

Due to the fact that the fluid supply inlets are arranged in the immediate vicinity of the feed nozzle and that they are distinct, one serving for supplying cleaning fluid to the nozzle for cleaning the gun, the other to the supply of compressed air to the nozzle for drying said gun, the cleaning of the inlets and cleaning and drying ducts connectable to said inputs is facilitated and the length of said ducts reduced.

This arrangement makes it possible to dispense with a pump at the level of the cleaning device and to easily adapt the characteristics of the cleaning fluid to depending on the nature of the fluid to be sprayed.

Preferably, the feed nozzle is mounted movably relative to the support frame in the direction of a connection or a spacing of the device of the evacuation means.

Such a device can thus be adapted to guns of variable characteristic.

Preferably, the outlet of each fluid supply inlet of the supply nozzle is an axial outlet with an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the duct of the supply nozzle.

This arrangement makes it possible to facilitate the flow of fluid into the nozzle and makes it possible to produce an axial fluid supply inlet in which the risks of stagnation of liquid are reduced or even zero.

More preferably, the evacuation means of the cleaning device comprise at least one fluid receiving member intended to be connected at the inlet to the fluid outlet of the gun. The supply nozzle and said receiving member are positioned relative to each other so as to be able to be connected at the same time respectively to said spray gun paint inlet and to the outlet of the spray gun .

With this arrangement, the operator can, without disconnecting the gun from the cleaning device, proceed to the supply of cleaning fluid, the emptying and drying of the gun.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in which the output of the spray gun to be cleaned comprises at least one axial outlet of fluid to be sprayed and at least one, preferably a plurality of, preferably radial, outlet (s). (s), called (s) output (s) of gas under pressure, serving for example to adjust the shape of the fluid flow from the axial outlet, characterized in that said receiving member comprises on the one hand at least one receiving nozzle, preferably of cylindro-conical shape, connected, at the outlet, to means for collecting the flow of sprayed and connectable fluid, at the inlet, with the axial outlet of the fluid stream to be sprayed from the gun, on the other hand at least one inlet gas outlet duct connectable with the at least one gas outlet of said gun and opening out in an area, called evacuation zone gases distinct from the collection means of the sprayed fluid stream.

Preferably, said receiving member comprises, in addition to the receiving nozzle intended to cooperate with the axial outlet of the spray gun, a ring surrounding said nozzle, the inlet of the at least one gas discharge duct being provided between the ring and receiving nozzle.

In addition, generally, an annular seal with a convex outer circumferential surface is housed inside said ring.

Preferably, the seal, housed inside the ring, is loaded by a spring and is biased in the bearing position against an inner peripheral circumferential shoulder of the ring. The gas evacuation zone is formed by the ambient air surrounding said cleaning device so that the end of the exhaust duct separate from the collection means of the fluid flow opens out in the open air. The gas evacuation zone being formed by the ambient air surrounding the cleaning device, the support frame comprises, in its so-called rear zone opposite its front opening, at least one, preferably a plurality of openings corresponding to the outlet. in the open air of the exhaust ducts or gases.

In this embodiment, the user is not hindered by the vapors of the cleaning products and the volume of cleaning fluid to be treated is reduced.

As mentioned above, the cleaning device, which is the subject of the invention, comprises a support frame delimiting a cleaning volume 22, such as a enclosure, adapted to receive at least partially a spray gun to be cleaned. This support frame 2 carries a fluid supply head 3 comprising at least one feed nozzle 5 intended to be connected to the paint inlet 27 of the spray gun to be cleaned. This cleaning device also comprises means 4 for discharging at least a portion of the fluid from the fluid supply head 3.

The cleaning device is for cleaning spray guns. As shown in figure 5 a spray gun 26 may be placed partially in the volume 22. The spray gun 26 comprises in particular an inlet 27 for spraying fluid, said entry 27 of paint, an internal conduit and a fluid outlet 28, the internal conduit s extending between the inlet 27 and the fluid outlet 28. Such a gun also has an air inlet 31 connectable to a source of compressed air supply. This inlet 31 of air allows, in particular, to help the fluid to flow from the paint inlet 27 to the fluid outlet 28 and to be ejected from said gun during actuation of the gun trigger. This air inlet 31 also serves to supply a gas outlet 30 of the gun for adjusting the shape of the fluid flow. Indeed, generally, the outlet 28 of the spray gun to be cleaned comprises at least one axial outlet 29 of spray fluid formed of a gas-liquid mixture, and at least one, preferably a plurality of outlets 30, preferably radial said pressurized gas outlets for adjusting the shape of the fluid flow from the axial outlet.

The gas outlets 30 are disposed around the axial outlet 29. When the spray gun 26 is used to paint, a paint bucket (not shown) is connected to the paint inlet 27. The paint passes into the inner duct and exits through the outlet 28, in particular through the axial outlet 29 of spray fluid from the outlet 28. When it is desired to clean it, the spray gun 26 is connected to the cleaning device 1, as shown in figure 5 . More specifically, the paint bucket is removed and the paint inlet 27 is connected to the feed nozzle 3 of the feed head 3.

Then, the feed head 3 can be controlled to circulate cleaner.

In characteristic manner to the invention, the cleaning device 1 comprises at least two independent fluid supply inlets 6, 7 of the supply nozzle 5. Said inlets 6, 7 each have a separate outlet 6A, 7A in the duct of said supply nozzle, said inlets 6, 7 being connectable to one, to a source of cleaning fluid, the other 7 to a source of compressed air.

Thus, in the connected state of the inlets 6, 7 at their respective fluid source, during the cleaning phase, the cleaning fluid feeds the inlet nozzle 6 via the inlet 6 and passes successively through the inlet 27 of FIG. paint, the inner conduit, the outlet 28 of the gun, in particular by the axial outlet 29 of the outlet 28. During the drying phase, compressed air supplies, through the inlet 7, the nozzle 5 and passes successively through the paint inlet 27, the inner conduit, the outlet 28 of the gun, in particular the axial outlet 29 of the outlet 28 of the gun. This drying makes it possible to evacuate the cleaning product remaining in the internal conduit of the gun between inlet 27 and outlet 28 of said gun.

In the example shown, the frame 2 has the shape of a column provided with a front opening through which the gun is introduced inside the column in the cleaning volume 22. This cleaning volume 22 is delimited at least by the peripheral wall of the frame. The feed head 3 is disposed at or near the top of the frame and therefore extends substantially above the pistol in the introduced state of the gun in the cleaning volume 22.

The cleaning device also comprises means 4 for evacuating at least a portion of the fluid coming from the fluid supply head 3 cleaning. In the examples shown, the means 4 for discharging the cleaning device comprise at least one fluid receiving member 14 intended to be connected at the inlet to the fluid outlet of the gun 26. For this purpose, the peripheral wall of the frame door, on its side facing the interior of the frame, the receiving member 14 which is housed inside the volume 22 cleaning. This receiving member 14 extends substantially opposite the front opening of the frame.

Preferably, the supply nozzle and said receiving member 14 are positioned relative to one another so as to be able to be connected at the same time respectively to said paint spray gun entry port 27 and at the outlet 28 of the spray gun.

More preferably, said receiving member 14 comprises at least one receiving nozzle 15, preferably of cylindro-conical shape, said receiving nozzle 15 being connected, at the outlet, to means 16 for collecting the flow of sprayed and connectable fluid. at the inlet, with the axial outlet 29 of spray fluid from the gun. This input connection makes it possible to orient the flow of fluid towards said collection means 16. Said receiving nozzle 15 is, in the state connected with said axial outlet 29, able to prevent any action of the gas coming from the gas outlets 30 on the fluid flow coming from the axial outlet.

The receiving member 14 comprises, in addition to the at least one receiving nozzle 15 connected, at the outlet, to means 16 for collecting the flow of sprayed and connectable fluid, at the inlet, with the axial outlet 29 of the flow of fluid to be sprayed. of the gun, at least one gas discharge duct 17 connectable at the inlet with the at least one gas outlet 30 of said gun and opening out in an area called gas evacuation zone distinct from the means 16 for collecting the flow of gas. sprayed fluid to evacuate the gun's gases into an evacuation zone.

Un joint 19 d'étanchéité annulaire à surface périphérique externe convexe est logé à l'intérieur de ladite bague 18.This receiving member 14 also comprises, in addition to the receiving nozzle 15 intended to cooperate with the axial outlet 29 of the spray gun and the discharge pipe 17, a ring 18 surrounding said nozzle 15, in particular the frustoconical part of said nozzle 15, the inlet of the at least one evacuation pipe 17 being formed between ring 18 and receiving nozzle 15. An annular seal 19 having a convex outer circumferential surface is housed inside said ring 18.

Said at least one gas evacuation conduit 17 has an inlet formed in the volume formed by the space left free between the ring 18 and the receiving nozzle 15, in particular the frustoconical portion of said nozzle 15, and an opposite end or outlet that opens into the gas evacuation zone. In the examples shown, the gas evacuation zone is formed by the ambient air surrounding the cleaning device so that the at least one gas evacuation duct opens in the open air. For this purpose, the frame 2 support comprises, in its so-called rear zone, opposite to its front opening, at least one, preferably a plurality of openings corresponding to the outlet to the open air of the exhaust ducts or gases . The seal 19, housed inside the ring 18, is loaded by a spring 20 and is biased into a bearing position against an inner peripheral circumferential shoulder 21 of the ring 18. In the connected state of the outlet 28 of the gun to the receiving member 14, this seal 19 surrounds the gun barrel with sealing contact and prevents the air exiting from the end of the barrel of the gun by the gas outlets 30 to escape out of the volume delimited by the ring 18, the nozzle 15 and said seal 19 and forming the inlet of the at least one discharge conduit 17. The convex outer peripheral surface of the gasket 19 allows said gasket to be swiveled inside the housing formed by the ring when the gun barrel is introduced inside the gasket until the end of the gun barrel comes into position. bearing contact with the conical end of the receiving nozzle 15 and capping the end of said nozzle. It should be noted that this nozzle end is preferably made of an elastically deformable material. In this bearing contact position of the axial outlet 29 of the gun fluid with the tapered end of the receiving nozzle 15, the radial outlet 30 gun barrel gas flows into the volume extending between the ring 18, the seal 19 and the nozzle 15 receiving and wherein is formed the inlet of the conduit 17 gas discharge. As the seal 19 seals with the barrel of the gun, the clean air is forced to evacuate through the conduit 17 for evacuation of gas and is brought into the atmosphere so that the volume of fluid to be treated collected in the collection means is less than in the state of the art. In the examples shown, said receiving member 14 comprises a plurality of gas discharge ducts 17, said ducts being disposed equidistant from the axis of the receiving nozzle 15. Thus, the entrances of the gas discharge ducts 17 in the space between the ring 18 and the receiving nozzle 15 are arranged on a center circle located on the central axis of the receiving nozzle. This increases the possibilities of evacuation of gases in the atmosphere.

It can be seen that the receiving nozzle has a cylindro-conical shape. This makes it possible to connect the receiving nozzle 15 to guns having paint outlets of different diameters.

Thus, during a cleaning phase, the cleaning product leaves the feed head 3 and passes successively through the feed nozzle 5, the paint inlet 27, the internal pipe, the outlet 28 of the gun, the receiving member 14 then arrives in the collection means 16. As can be seen, the cleaning product thus flows in a closed circuit from the feed head 3 to the collection means 16. Thus, it is avoided that cleaning fluid vaporizes in the environment of the cleaning device 1. The inconvenience of the user is avoided. After circulating the cleaning product, the inlet head 3 can be controlled to pass air under pressure in the closed circuit mentioned above to dry the spray gun and more specifically to evacuate the cleaning product remaining in the internal conduit. The means 16 for collecting the cleaning fluid to be treated are here formed of a duct connected to the outlet of the receiving nozzle 15 and a tank supplied with cleaning fluid to be treated by said duct. This reservoir is a tank housed in a generally removable manner in the base of the support frame to be emptied.

The device further comprises fluid evacuation means 4 disposed in the lower part of the cleaning volume 22 of the support frame. Indeed, this cleaning volume 22 is delimited at least by the peripheral wall of the frame and by an inclined lower wall delimiting a bowl inside the frame to guide a flow to a conduit 23 drain which opens into the conduit d supply of the reservoir of the collection means. Thus, if, during the introduction or removal of the spray gun 26, the paint or the cleaning product flows into the volume 22, the bottom wall and the drain duct allow recovery to the product reservoir. cleaning to treat.

As illustrated in figures 5 and 6 , the feed nozzle 5 is mounted movably relative to the support frame 2 in the direction of an approximation or a spacing of the means 4 for discharging the device.

In particular, the feed nozzle 5 is driven up and down between a high position remote from the evacuation means 4 and a low position close to said evacuation means 4, said lower position being an adjustable position. function at least of the dimensional characteristics of the spray gun to be cleaned.

Thus, when the supply nozzle and the receiving member 14 are positioned relative to each other so as to be connected at the same time respectively to said spray gun paint inlet 27 and to the output 28 of the spray gun, adjusting the level of the nozzle 5 supply allows to vary its relative position relative to the receiving member 14 and therefore to adapt to guns of different characteristics as illustrated the figures 5 and 6 , said guns being able to differ in the dimensions of the paint inlet, the dimensions of the outlet, the distance and relative orientation between the paint entry and the gun exit. The feed head 3 is in turn represented in greater detail in the figures 1 and 2 .

Ce conduit forme l'entrée 6 d'alimentation en fluide de nettoyage de la buse 5.In the examples shown, the supply nozzle 5 is coupled to the frame 2 of the cleaning device 1 at least by a nozzle holder 8 forming, in cooperation with the nozzle 5, the feed head 3 of the cleaning device. The nozzle holder 8 has the shape of a vertical axis tubular body equipped at its lower end with the feed nozzle and open at its upper end to form an opening for introducing a source of fluid. cleaning device, such as an aerosol container, inside said nozzle holder 8. The aerosol container 24 is adapted to be introduced by its diffuser 25, that is to say, upside down, inside. of the nozzle holder 8 until the diffuser 25 comes to fit at least partially inside the inlet 6 for supplying cleaning fluid to the feed nozzle 5 opening into the conduit of the nozzle 5 power supply. This inlet 6 is formed by a stepped through duct formed in the bottom 9 of the constituent body of the nozzle holder. Thus, a generally manual pressure applied to the bottom of the aerosol container 24, via the aerosol container diffuser 25, to supply cleaning fluid to said nozzle. This nozzle holder 8 comprises, in addition to this through conduit housing of the aerosol container diffuser 25, communicating with the supply nozzle 5, an air inlet circuit portion connectable at one end to a power supply source. compressed air and opening at its opposite end in said feed nozzle forming an air inlet 7 in said nozzle separate from the cleaning fluid supply inlet 6. Outlet 6A, 7A of each inlet 6, 7 for supplying fluid to the supply nozzle 5 is an axial outlet with an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the duct 5 of the supply nozzle. The air inlets 7 and the cleaning fluid inlet 6 in the supply nozzle 5 are thus axial inlets disposed on the large base side of the cone of the frustoconical feed nozzle 5 so as to facilitate the flow of the fluids to the inside the nozzle. These two separate inputs allow, without disconnecting the gun and with a simple assembly, to proceed, at first, with a cleaning of the gun then, in a second time, with a drying of the gun. The nozzle holder 8 is mounted on said frame, slidably movable in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tubular body constituting the nozzle holder. For this purpose, nozzle holder 8 and frame 2 are equipped with means such as rails, slides, rolling members, pads or others for sliding mounting of the nozzle holder on said frame. In detail, the nozzle holder comprises a cylindrical wall which defines an upwardly open housing for the introduction of the aerosol container into said housing. The bottom of the housing is closed by a bottom wall 9 which has a through duct shouldered preferably central. This conduit opens into the channel of the feed nozzle 5 and is substantially aligned with it. This conduit forms the inlet 6 for supplying cleaning fluid to the nozzle 5.

The air inlet 7 is also formed in the bottom wall of the nozzle holder 8 and opens into the feed nozzle via axial passages. This air inlet is formed of a radial air inlet duct to the nozzle holder and connected to a source 33 of compressed air. This conduit opens into an annular volume disposed around the inlet 6 for supplying cleaning fluid to the nozzle. This annular volume is provided with axial passages aligned with the conduit of the feed nozzle. These axial passages form the outlet 7A of the air inlet 7 in the nozzle 5. The supply head 3 also comprises radial handles 13, one of which is shown, which are fixed to the cylindrical wall of the carrier. nozzle 8 and allow the displacement of the feed head 3. It can be seen that the feed nozzle 5 has a frustoconical shape. This makes it possible to connect the feed nozzle to guns having paint entries of different diameters.

An aerosol container 24 is arranged in the housing formed in the nozzle holder 8, upside down. The aerosol container 24 comprises a bottom, possibly a dip tube and a diffuser 25. Cleaner and propellant under pressure are contained in the container 24. As shown in FIG. figure 2 , the diffuser 25 is arranged in abutment in the conduit through the bottom wall of the nozzle holder. The aerosol container 24 can slide in the housing. Thus, if a user presses on the bottom of the container 24, the container 24 approaches the diffuser 25, which causes the opening of a valve (not shown) of the aerosol container 24. The cleaning product contained in the container 25 is then expelled and passes into the diffuser 25, the inlet 6 and the feed nozzle 5.

The aerosol container 24 can be easily placed in the housing, and easily replaced when empty. In addition, a mixture of cleaner and propellant is expelled. Thus, by choosing the cleaning product and the shape of the diffuser appropriately, it is possible to expel the cleaning product in the form of foam and to improve the cleaning ability. The feed head 3 can have a simple structure so that it is not necessary to provide a pump or a valve for cleaner.

However, in a variant not shown, the cleaning device could comprise a cleaner pump or be connected to the dispensing water as a cleaning product.

With the aid of a cleaning device, as described above, it is possible to proceed as follows for the cleaning of a gun: the gun is positioned on the receiving member. The feed head 3 and thus the nozzle 5 are lowered to a position of connection with the paint inlet of the gun. The aerosol container is pressed until the gun inlet is filled. The gun is drained by pressing the gun trigger. Bearing operations are repeated on the aerosol container and drain as many times as necessary. The gun is dried by sending compressed air through the paint inlet of said gun. We go back the head 3 and the associated nozzle 5. The gun is extracted from the cleaning zone 22.
