- Appliances for drying laundry such as tumble dryers, as for example EP 2 067 890 , generally comprise a drying chamber for accommodating therein the objects to be dried. Heated and dehumidified drying medium is guided through the drying chamber. Upon passing the drying chamber and objects, the heated and dehumidified drying medium takes up humidity and at the same time cools down. The drying medium then exits the drying chamber, thereby discharging humidity from the drying chamber and the objects.
- Heat pumps generally operate with refrigerants as working fluids.
- Traditional refrigerants such as Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) and Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), are known to cause damages to the environment, inter alia by their ozone-destroying properties and most of all by their high global warning potential (GWP) which is the measure of how much a given mass of greenhouse gas is estimated to contribute to global warming.

Claims (12)
- Haushaltsgerät (1) zum Trocknen von Gegenständen, insbesondere Wäsche (3), das eine Trockenkammer (2) zur Aufnahme der Gegenstände (3) und einen ersten Kreislauf zum zirkulierenden Beaufschlagen der Trockenkammer (2) mit einem Trocknungsmedium (4) und ferner eine Wärmepumpe (5) mit einem zweiten Kreislauf zur Zirkulation eines Wärmeaustauschmediums umfasst, wobei der erste und der zweite Kreislauf auf wärmeaustauschende Weise gekoppelt sind und wobei das Wärmeaustauschmedium vom Hydrofluoroolefin-Typ ist.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei das Hydrofluoroolefin ein Tetrafluoropropen umfasst, insbesondere 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoropropen und/oder 1,1,1,3-Tetrafluoropropen.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei eine kritische Temperatur des Wärmeaustauschmediums in einem Bereich von 90 °C bis 115 °C liegt.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei ein kritischer Druck des Wärmeaustauschmediums in einem Bereich von 25-40 Bar liegt, vorzugsweise von 30-35 Bar, insbesondere von 33-34 Bar.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, wobei die Nennwärme der Verdampfung am Siedepunkt des Wärmeaustauschmediums in einem Bereich von 160-215 kJ/kg liegt, vorzugsweise von 175 bis 200 kJ/kg.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, wobei der Erderwärmungspotenzialindex des Wärmeaustauschmediums in einem Bereich von 1-15, vorzugsweise von 2-8 und insbesondere bevorzugt von 4-6 liegt.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, wobei das Wärmeaustauschmedium wenigstens eine aus einer unteren Brennbarkeitsstufe von etwa 6,2 Vol% und einer oberen Brennbarkeitsstufe von etwa 12,3 Vol% aufweist.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, wobei das Wärmeaustauschmedium wenigstens eines aus eine Mindestzündenergie von mehr als 3000 mJ und einer Brandgeschwindigkeit von etwa 1,5 cm/s aufweist.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, wobei die Wärmepumpe (5) eine Nennkühlleistung zwischen etwa 500 W und 3500 W, insbesondere zwischen 1500 W und 3500 W aufweist.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, wobei die Wärmepumpe (5) einen Verdampfer-Wärmetauscher (6) zur Übertragung der Wärme vom Trocknungsmedium zum Wärmeaustauschmedium umfasst, wobei das Gerät (1) so ausgeführt ist, dass eine Einlass-Nenntemperatur des Trocknungsmediums (4) am Verdampfer-Wärmetauscher mindestens etwa 30°C beträgt.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, wobei die Wärmepumpe (5) einen Verflüssiger-Wärmetauscher (7) zur Übertragung der Wärme vom Wärmeaustauschmedium zum Trocknungsmedium (4) umfasst, wobei das Gerät (1) so ausgeführt ist, dass eine Auslass-Nenntemperatur des Trocknungsmediums am Verflüssiger-Wärmetauscher höchstens 100 °C beträgt.
- Haushaltsgerät (1) gemäß wenigstens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11, wobei der erste Kreislauf für das Trocknungsmedium einen geschlossenen Kreislauf bildet.
